"Awesomeness will ensue..."

BEN SPARTAN120

That's a fairly straight forward question, I think.

Anyways, in the past, I've noticed that my post might be the last in a thread, and like it catches TB or something, people won't post after me!

It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, you feel kinda... dirty...

Of course there are many reasons why this could happen:

*Subject of thread gets little attention
*Your post may be late in the thread's life
*You have cooties

Don't be afraid to jump in and help me out here guys...

Another possible theory is...

* You deliberately go out of your way to derail/kill the thread.

I've seen it done.

Any way, I've been working on some theories regarding the avoidance of killing off dying threads, but they need some more work. In the mean time, feel free to post if you've been in a similar situation before...

I'll be away for a few hours, so I offer my apologies for not responding immediately.

Adios!

Sometimes

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I only feel that way in groups, but it's still really rare for that to happen to me.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I think the mods are the ones who kill the most threads.

  • 02.01.2012 2:38 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

When I used to post on the flood a lot, yes.

I don't feel like I or anyone else really kill a thread with a contributing reply.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”

Yeah, I do feel that way sometimes and it's frustrating.

Really i thought they brought in replies, and then derail them.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I was seconds away from making this thread. I feel I am the ultimate killer of threads

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

It used to feel like I killed every thread I posted in. I guess I got cured, because now I only kill some of the threads I post in. I'm like a reformed serial killer or something.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

I only derail them.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

But I am the life of the party in any thread, I'm one to always tell a good joke.

  • 02.01.2012 2:55 PM PDT

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Quite a fair bit, yeah.

Real life? What is that?
Graphics are good, gameplay sucks. Overhyped IMO.

I don't want to help you. I'm sorry. =(

I hate when that happens! I feel more unloved then usual.

Remember Elk

I do get the feeling at times. Having your recen posts page contain 8/25 threads killed by you does that...

  • 02.01.2012 2:59 PM PDT

Yes. I'm a serial killer when it comes to threads.

I'm pretty sure I just killed this one too.

Nah bro, not yet ;D

Well one thing I've noticed is [and this correlates to my theory that I'm in the midst of fleshing out] the time difference between the various users of B.net.

The majority of users are located in the Americas, and I, for instance, am located in Australasia. There is a large time delay in terms of user population where by a thread/post of lesser stature/maturity [in terms of posts] may simply be bumped before it has a chance to play chicken in the peak hour traffic of the site.

My thesis is obviously more elaborate than that, but that is the basic gist of things. [user population at the time of post].

All the same, it's a fairly average feeling when you're the last post and you weren't intending to conclude the entire thread :(

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

More often than not, I feel like the threads I comment in just end. Maybe it's just a perspective thing. Though perhaps it's because I avoid inflammatory remarks, so few are interested in a rebuttal.
