As much as I want to say that I'm an anonymous poster that has little to no bearing on threads, I'm often frustrated when I take the time to leave long and well thought out reply only for no one to respond. It's most likely a simple loss of interest in the time I takes me to post, but it's hard to shake the feeling.

Apophenia, perhaps?

I agree completely! When you take the time do render a considered and very relevant response, only to have it overlooked or ignored... It really grinds... I suppose that's the interwebs for ya though :-/

This. I'm not sure if killing a thread or having your post ignored is worse.

I asked someone this same exact question a couple years ago. Nowadays, IF I notice I have killed the thread, the edit my post and put "/thread" or "THE END" just for a good laugh.

Can you elaborate on that some more?

Do you ever feel like you kill threads?
All the time, but a lot of the threads I post in are ones that are in the wrong forum (I'll usually link the person to the right forum and that'll be the end of the thread). When it comes to threads that have a discussion going on, sometimes it happens but not too much.

  • 02.04.2012 1:54 PM PDT

Every time I post.

THE END

Not sure there is much else that can be said on this topic now :D Thanks to everyone who shared their feelings. This is like an AA meeting, only it's not entirely anonymous...

We should know better, because we are better.

Quite a few times. Not so much now.

  • 02.04.2012 5:12 PM PDT

I used to feel like that on the Halo 3 forums!

Since organized communities are usually more enjoyable, you should take your time to read the forum rules to save yourself some trouble and help keep the forums clean :-)

I used to see a lot of threads die after I gave my two cents before Halo 3 was released. If I were to look back now, I'm not sure if it was because of the truth in my posts, or because I was just too dumb to be understood.

Happens to me all the time.

Could be my rate of posting or my crippling paragraphs of text or my insatiable enthusiasm for Halo strategies and campaign or my gleeful (and often immature) nature or my vocabulary. Or it's because I have fast typing skills...

Yep, it's a good thing I don't make threads very often or I'd be managing 20+ threads!
