Seriously, why did Bungie ever change it in Halo 2 so you would charge when you meleed.

Cons of Halo 2 meleeing:
You can't melee people above or below you.
No skill
You go through opponents half the time without causing damage
A meleeing battle often becomes a 'who has a better connection' battle

Pros of Halo 2 meleeing
One more reason why my name exists

So will Bungie realize their pitiful mistake and correct it for Halo 3? All they would have to do is make meleeing exactly like Halo 1. Of course they haven't fixed meleeing at all in Halo 2 so I'm doubtful.

If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

I'd like the melee to be changed in Halo 3 to be similar to the melee system in Halo 1, but do not use derogatory terms to descibe the melee lunge, and do not avoid the swear filter.

In Halo 1 you could melee and kill someone a meter in front of you, now that wasnt realistic, and lunging makes it more real, you aint just gonna push your gun at someone, your gonna do a little charge to get some force behind the hit.

The only weapon that should lunge is the sword. Other than that, lunging leads to randomness and BS. Isn't it great when you are playign h2 MP, and you and an opponent both hit b at the same time, but they are the one that lunges, meaning you lose? Or what about when you lunge into someones back 4 times before they finally spin around and BxR you? At least the h1 melee's worked and weren't random, they required skill and timing.

Why should the sword have a lunge?

I liked Halo 1's melee much better. Halo 2's is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah in Halo CE you had a longer range, but it still was much harder to hit someone.

Dont belive me, get a friend and have a melee battle in Halo CE. It wont be about who hit B first and you wont hit every time just because you can see the person. Halo 2 it was way too easy, but I dont hate the game for it.

I say it should be more like Halo CE.

I go by many names, Shinigami, osiris, thanatos, Ares are but a few. But my name is not important for i am god and i am coming for you.

i am a master of my trade with these two hands i create great works. What is it i do?? ... well lets hope for your sake you never find out.

Like guns?? so do we, join Halo Armory and you can too

im not bothered about the sword lunging as it makes the weapon usefull and feared in small places, the mellees however can be very annoying, they go through people and the assist and distance you can lunge is unreal, i would be much happier with the old halo ce mellee but im not "that" bothered as i still find fun ways of using the lunge of the mellees in "mellee only" games.

If the sword doesn't lunge it wouldn't even be a power weapon, heck it'd barely be worth picking up, you can shoot, and unless your really close, you arent' going to hurt anyone. H1 melee's were somewhat hard to aim, but not impossible. Granted, I switched to greenthumb, which helped ENORMOUSLY (one of the best BLB's in the country), but I'd stil take a bit hard over stupidly shallow and easy, any day of the week. I think that's true of most halo fans.

In halo 1 your lunge was longer though. You didn't need to lunge. In halo 2 if you dont' lunge you can easily miss people that were veyr close to you, almost right in your face, but not quite.

That's true, but the lunge in Halo 2 actually guides you to your enemy so you only have to aim in their general direction, and it's inconsistent.

Halo2 melee > Halo1 melee

Hah, typical. Amusing how Ch3mical openly admits he doesn't consider anything else but his own blinkered point of view and then makes sweeping declarations based on it.
