Subject: Does Bungie.net have a top admin above all the others?

I think we should have a contest to decide.

The competitors will be Achronos.

I'm pretty sure Chris Gossett is the "top" admin, followed by Achronos, then stosh*.

*not sure where stosh stands

Stosh doesn't stand anywhere. He simply levitates to where he is needed

Needed as a scapegoat since people tend to blame Stosh so very often...

Upstairs in bed while you guys are keeping his mom entertained?

I think sawnose is higher up than stosh though. Programming > drawing.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. Okay, another question to add:

What is Achronos' role outside Bungie.net, in the company itself?
"Bungie's own online secret service of course! ;)

We know the name of the head guy and he has a account with administrator privileges? All I knew is that there is definitely a guy above Achronos on the Web Team, based on a Bungie podcast.

But didn't chris gossett join in like 2006? I know it's not necessarily based on how long you've been in the company, but I'm pretty sure achronos was running things since long before then (like 2000 at least, maybe earlier for all I know - 1998 possibly?)

I honestly don't know. I'm not very omniscient (possibly my new signature, as I've used this sentence before). But it's not too relevant either way...

Oh, all right! I'll try to look it up!

I found this at Bungiepedia:
RunningTurtle (Chris Gossett) is a member of the Bungie Web Team . He is a relatively new employee having joined the site in 2006, but is a member of the "Old Skool" employees. RunningTurtle does not post often on Bungie.net, but is credited with creating and maintaining the site's search feature.
It wasn't very conclusive on him being the lead guy, although it did say he joined 2006, so I looked a bit further and found this:
The Bungie Studios web team is responsible for maintaining Bungie's official site, Bungie.net. The main team consists of Tom Gioconda, Chris Gossett, and a few testers (such as Skiptrace). Tom is the primary developer, and Chris is the webdev lead for the website. Colm Nelson, who is a UI developer for the games, also contributed much to the new look of bungie.net during the New Hawtness relauch -- because Bungie was working with a company called If/Then to redo the website at the time, Colm came in about halfway through. Much of the Bungie.net art was produced by Lorraine McLees, Chris Barrett and Aaron LeMay.
Which, still doesn't seem very conclusive to me because of my lack of title knowledge; but if I was to hazard a guess (don't take my word for it, as I have absolutely no knowledge in the matter), I'd say this means that Achronos and Chris are at relatively level ground but that Chris oversees more of the team.

Achronos answers to no one... so I think he's your best bet.

The funny thing was, I originally wrote that article...but I have no idea where I got that information from. As a rudimentary attempt at ass-covering, he's referred to here as lead web developer.

Okay, okay, I'm sorry for deceiving the community. It won't happen again, at least until someone stumbles on one of my other articles.

Where does his username derive from? It sounds cool.
He just made it up he has said. It isn't from anywhere, though apparently someone claimed once it has some meaning in... latin or something? I dunno. I just remember him saying he made it up on his own.

Chronos (sometimes spelled Chronus or Kronos in Latin) was a Titan (son of the Earth goddess Gaia and the Sky god Ouranos) and the father of the Olympian gods in Greek mythology. Some myths portray him as having the ability to manipulate the passage of time. Which probably has something to do with the Greek root "chrono" usually referring to time (e.g. chronological). In Greek, the prefix "a" means "not," "without," or "lack."

What any of that has to do with his username, I have no idea. As for his position within Bungie, I'm pretty sure he is the head of the webteam (meaning the developers, programmers, etc.) and there a couple other people who oversee the whole website division (including Achronos). I could be completely wrong, but that's my understanding of it.

*Sigh* Oh, the wonders of the internet. I should start making it a habit to look up those wiki's sources more often, I'm generally very (too) trusting of them.

So you mean to say that you have no idea where you got that information and it could very well be from a secondary, tertiary or even a completely nonexistent source?

Could you help to point out all of the confirmed information? That's a rather long read...

No, it's just that I wrote the article over four years ago, and I didn't bother to fill out the sources because it was pretty much common knowledge at the time, and moreover nobody really cared that much.

As it turns out, it's all in the news article. I'm going to bed now.
