Subject: Please Read, Halo 3, why it is such an emotional end to a trilogy!!!!

Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

A while ago I posted an emotional thread regardingthis topic and althought I made some people cry, it is true to state that we have invested emotions in this game like no other before and after it.

If you are like me then you would have read all the books, played all the games and in your own mind lived the life of the Master Chief every step of the way, from the first time we met him at school when Dr. Halsey picked him, growing up with his fellow Spartans, his first meeting with Cortana, his last battle on the Pillar of Autumn up until his last ever battle to save the beloved Earth as he has done so many countless times.

Yes, it will be sad to see him go, but he goes with honour and we know how much he will have deserved and earned his peacefull death that only befits a hero. Many of you will regard John as a one man hero, a man that wanted to be a lone cowboy, to save the Earth. I can tell you right now that is not what John is.

He is a soldier with the responsibility of protecting the Earth and along with his fellow Spartans they had a mission to do just that, little did he know that his battle will take him so long, and push him to the end of his limits. Thats what John really is, a soldier that never says die, a man that does not know how to lose.

Sad, aint the word for it, there no words that come to mind to express what I will feel when I see John exhale his last ever breath, but what will come to mind are all those close calls that he had and how it has all bulit up for the final epic battle that he be in.

Oh yeah, it will be epic, cause all of his Spartans died doing something heroic, something that defied the odds but suceeded they did and they died for it.

I expect the Master Chief to be no different, I expect him to die the most heroic death of them all, all whilst saving Earth, as he always has.

Master Chief it was an honour sharing your life with you.

There's just one thing left to say: In the FAQ, Frankie says that Halo 3 will be the last of this story arc. Perhaps he will return again...

Maybe so, but I dont expect him to. The Halo story might live on, but not the Master Chief, he has scars, emotional and physical, that no soldier can recover from, he has battled long enough, he deserves his along waited death but not after making sure that his Spartans did not die a meaningless death, until the Earth is safe from the Covenant and the Flood.

An impossible mission you say, but the Master Chief has lived an impossible life and has defied so many odds to fight he way here to Earth.

With a tear in my eye and a quiver of my lip and a slight shake in my voice, I say to you, very well said. John deserves nothing less of an epic battle that would possibly have him sacrifice himself the most glorious way. Earth shall never know another hero like John.

We should make a post posting a forum for John, a tribute forum making sure that he gets the credit that he deserves, I dont know about you but right now he is my favourite hero character.

Here's to John, Spartan Code: 117.

To the spartan that served in the Navy all his life,
fought the covenant on their own ground and WON,

To John...(takes a shot of whiskey, leavs one sitting in front of Halo, Halo2 for John)

He is a soldier, the best death for him would be out of war out of battle..why? the chief never fails a mission, to be hinest i'd rather see him in a different game after H3, i mean this is surely gonna eb the alst one i hope so that chief can move on, but wtever bungie does, dont give him and eye patch like solid snake please..well ill toast to a soldier, a freind and ofcourse, to one hell ova kick ass killing machine
