AKA ONI. ONI reports to sec. 3 brass and ONI has all the $$$ anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

Oh yeah I forgot about ONI, sorry for the mix up but what about that Srg that trained him whilst he was young, was it Silva or was that the guy in the second book?

It was CPO Mendez that trained him when he was young. Silva was a major and he was all Helljumperific.

That is indeed correct. I think they said he was going to train the next group of Spartans but that didn't pan out for some reason.

See now what happen to Spartan I and Spartan III projects?

I have a feeling that Bungie will fill in those gaps in due time, maybe with a prequel and answer our question in Halo 3! I hope!
