I'm placing you on the hitlist.

I was going to screen print a bunch of Bungie shirts and sell several of them. Things like the septagon, clinched fist with lightening and other Bungie symbols were designs I plan on adding to my shirts. Also some of the shirts would say Bungie on them as well.
So is this legally possible?

Not that I'm aware of.

What? Got something against Yetis?

I'm no lawyer, but I don't think you're allowed to sell any trademarked item without consent. But I'm not sure if the Septagon is really trademarked.

Well my whole plan was to sell them. It's not like I'd be making a tremendous profit or anything...

How many were you planning to sell? Because I highly doubt that Bungie would hunt you down for ~50 bucks. That would be hilarious. :D

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

It's safe and perfectly fine to make the shirt, however, selling it would be another issue.

I hate you unless I'm drunk.

If you were making them, and wearing to say, PAX, I don't think that'd be an issue.

But I do believe you run into an issue with trying to make a profit from it.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

I'm making 5 designs and 20 shirts for each design. The base shirt with nothing on it costs $8 on it's own because it is a thicker more quality material for good screen printing.
I probably will sell each shirt for around $15 each.

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

I think the selling is where you run into Legal Problems. As far as I know, you can't make a profit off of a Copyrighted Logo without Consent.

If you were just making them, you'd be fine. Hell, I've made my fair share of Bungie stuff.

It's generally okay to make something like that for personal use. Once you start using copyrighted images to make a financial gain is when you're going to start running into problems.

Does anyone even read these?

Just make sure you do it secretly and you're good to go.

I'm pretty sure that you can make them, but you can't sell them. I would recommend researching this before doing anything.

Allow me to clarify that I'm not opening up my own t-shirt business just me and a friend want to make a bunch of Bungie shirts. We are going to take Bungie logos and symbols and put our own twist on them and sell them to some people around here.
For example this is like the people who sculpt Batman and other 1:6 scale figure models and sell them in online forums like SideShowCollectors.com and stuff.
If you don't believe me just go to that website and check it out, you'll see people selling their own custom made Batman,Predator,Terminator, etc models.

"At the end of this day one shall stand, one shall fall"

So, Death or Bungie?

OP you cant sell copyrighted material AT ALL. Unless you have visual proof from Bungie saying you can sell products with their images on it. Examples of said copyrighted images are Bungie logo, marathon symbol, myth symbol, crimson logo. You CAN make it, but you CANNOT sell them for profit.

Assuming you sell all of them, one hundred shirts at $7 profit would rake you in $700 before production costs.

Small profit? Where exactly do you draw the line for copyright infringement? C'mon, man; this one was pretty obvious.

Snakie Purple.

If you're selling them for profit, they can come down on you for copyright infringement.

If you're making them for friends/yourself to wear/selling at a loss, they probably wouldn't care.

Have you ever screen printed before? It is not a easy craft. Not every shirt will come out right and thus will be discarded which will be a %100 waste of the shirt and ink.Especially with some of the complex designs we plan on making. Also thats another thing, the ink is pretty pricey.
So I do not see us making anywhere near a $700 profit.

From what I understand you cannot sell them, but you can make and distribute them.

Then there are the people who poop in the mash potatoes. Those people get launched out on their asses.

I would PM a Bungie employee and ask them.
