Subject: Shame on the UNSC...

Don't you find it a little strange that after MC helped the UNSC win the whole war, that after they think he died, they only scratch in 117 into the monument at the end of Halo 3?
I would've expected maybe a giant gold statue of the chief...

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.--Teddy Roosevelt

No, what they did was way cooler.

Sure, he helped a lot... But that doesn't mean all the other marines that gave their lives were any less important.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

This. If anything, there would be a statue of all the Spartan's and their names and their efforts against the Covenant in the war. What he did on Alpha Halo, and later Delta Halo and the Ark will never reach the public, along with the knowledge of the Flood, which ONI/UNSC will keep under raps for sometime.

Unless, of course, I'm mistaken because of Glasslands.

Actually he has this as monument,
in the museum of human history.

How the hell do they plan on keeping the Flood a secret?! IT NEARLY INFECTED THE ENTIRE PLANET.

Half of Africa =/= Entire Planet.

They mention that Rtas glasses half the continent to get rid of the local Flood.

Half the continent = half of Africa.

Hood tends to exaggerate. And Kilimanjaro seems to be fine in the end. And elite ships are only seen glassing the local area.

Down with Ulfric the killer of kings!
On the day of your death we will drink and we'll sing
We're the children of Skyrim
And we fight all out lives
And when Sovngarde beckons, every one of us dies

Spartans go to sovngarde after they die.

And how do you think the families of all the marines and pilots and everyone else would feel when only the Chief gets something like that?

If you think about it, all the little pictures and stuff left on the monument will eventually be taken down or blown away, but the chief's number will always be there.

"This is the prototype NOVA Bomb, nine fusion warheads encased in lithium triteride armor. When detonated, it compresses its fusionable material to neutron-star density, boosting the thermonuclear yield a hundredfold. I am Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb, temporarily in command of the UNSC military base Reach. To the Covenant uglies that might be listening, you have a few seconds to pray to your damned heathen gods. You all have a nice day in hell..."

Yes the Chief and the rest of the Spartans contributed a hell of a lot to the war effort.

However like all ONI & UNSC top secret operations, the Master Chief was still like any of the ONI spooks...Ghosts, people that technically do not exist, along with their history.

This does beg the question why they even scratched the 117 in the monument in the first place.

That said, i would have had a universe named after The Chief and his team... u know what it would be called... heres a scenario to explain...

Elite navigator: Entering unknown system in 5,4,3,2,1... exiting slipspace...

There is an enemy ship, they are hailing us.

Elite Ship-master: Patch them through, i want to hear this before we glass them.

Humans, have you called us to surrender? This is covenant owned space, your presence here as a single ship, IS MADNESS!

Captain Keyes (still alive because i love him) :
Madness Shipmaster?? THIS IS SPARTA!!

Slugs them with 5shots of heavy MAC Round, kicks them back through slipspace.

Best universe ever! :)

The spartan program was revealed in the war,
to give humanity hope.
