could some one tell me why all halo files, service info, profiles, DLC and everything else related to halo is being transferred over to 343 industries AKA Microsoft, there even going to host the game on their own servers. i just wanted to know why?
i have played every Bungie game over the last 7 years and i think Bungie have done an amazing job and would hate to see any of their work stop, if this happens the way we play Bungie games will change.
we will not be that community that Bungie worked to hard to create but we will just be people on consoles and PC's. i just wanted to know why all of Bungie's amazing work for the community over the last 20 something years was all going to be destroyed, please just go back to what Halo 1,2 and 3 such timeless classics, the community. and if Bungie are reading this, i beg you to keep all your hard work and keep this community that has become like a family alive.

Why? Because Microsoft basically owns the Halo IP and Bungie has separated from Microsoft. Now don't worry, Bungie will continue to make more kick ass games, but they won't be Halo.

thats not the point, Halo 1,2 and 3 were timeless classics because they brought random people together into a community, this is microsoft interfering, it will never be the same if this goes through, the community will be pulled apart and halo will be dead

There's nothing Bungie can do about that.

hahahahah what?!?!?!
i think u ate your derp-y-ohs for breakfast.
it is DONE 343i/microsoft has owned the rights to halo.
stop acting like its a middle school break up.

don't be so ignorant, its important, this will change halo, halo was the most successful sic fi community game ever, and microsoft are going to ruin it. microsoft see profit to be made and they don't care about the community, only money.
this will destroy halo both as a game and as a community

There's nothing that can be done to change what has already happened. Deals have been made and everything will be completed March 31st. Halo won't be dead since 343 Industries will be making Halo games and they already have a decent community of their own.

You should know that some 343i employees where at once bungie employees, i wouldnt think 343i will destory the halo community nor game.

343 is microsoft, not bungie nothing will ever change that, bungie have unique ideas and have created the best sci fi community games ever, they were further ahead than any other company the second they started.
microsoft will rewind the community, they will never make games as well as bungie did and will not listen to the community. that what made bungie so great, they didn't listen to the community, they were the community and microsoft are going to destroy that community and ruin halo.

You don't know that. Like another user said, there are people who used to be Bungie employees that are working at 343 Industries. All I can say is that you should just wait and see what happens instead of complaining about something that might not happen.

i can't help it if i feel as if this is a bad idea,

several months back i created a company with just 3 of us, after 3 months we had created our first game, it was called "Project Titan" in its beta stages, once we had created it we sent let many people play it in our building and sent it to some people, the player count was about 40, at first we had great feedback but after 2 weeks the count of players went down fro 40 to 0 in a few hours. they said the game was good at first but got boring. it was met job to make the hard decision, abandon "Project Titan", every copy of the game was deleted or sent back and the home-made server disassembled, we are currently working on our next game and hope that it will be available at the end of this year - beginning of 2013, but we learned a valuable lesson, never take on projects that are way ahead of you.

i believe this is what microsoft are doing, taking on too large a project, bungie were so good that they could never be beat but microsoft think they are better and thats what will destroy it

Since there's nothing you can do about the change, why don't you try being positive about it? You have no idea what the future of Halo will be so, relax.

  • 02.02.2012 7:27 AM PDT

It's not their choice. It's a part of their changeover.
