We all know GS343 and how annoying he can be,
but what if he was actually the big boss?

In the first halo when we encounter 343 he seems slightly over happy to see you.
I think that GS343 has sided with the flood to do god knows what.

I believe after the forerunners died out GS343 started going a bit rampent with no one aroundt to fix him if he did have a fault,
i think that he went corrupted and started to belive that his creaters wanted the flood to live,
so he used the halo's to give them food (animals, notice hows theres none on the halos) i think GS343 teleported the animals to the flood to provide them with some food so they could survive. Until he ran out of food supplys......

Then the pillar of Autum landed on halo and Gs343 thought he had a way to get the flood of the ring to a new home with more food and land.

but of course then halo got blown up and so did Gs343's dreams.

Until halo 2,
where he was recovered by the heretics and he sided with them perhaps as a chance to manipulate them to a new halo with more flood (he told the heretics everything about halo straight away, where as in H1 he didn't tell the mc, until cortana forced him too)

but then the arbiter blew up his idea there aswell,

not much happens with GS343 until the end of h2 were he is being held by tarturus.

HALO 3:
in halo 3 i believe that not only the gravemind has Cortana but also GS343,
because Gs and Gravemind both want the same thing, the floods survival.

Well thats just my idea,
post what you think

343 Guilty Spark hasn't really "allied" with anyone . He is merely trying to accomplish what he was designed for - the firing of the Halos in the event of an outbreak of the Flood. If the Flood themselves were going to activate the Halos, he would be helping them along just as he has the MC and the Covenant.

lol, thats actualy a decent theory involving GS 343, other than using his quotes for supporting evidence.

Not entirly backed up but its generaly a good theory, congratz!

Nicely put. He is a little crazy but he isn't siding with the Flood. Just going about his business as he was built to do.

343 isn't going to do anything but tri to contain the Flood and activate the Halo's... And get the index back from MC but besides that he wont do anything else.

He's not even going to bother getting the index back from the MC or Cortana. Halo 04 has been destroyed, so that index no longer has a function.

343GS kind of goes along the principle of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." By this I mean he is willing to help anyone who is fighting the Flood, since he doesn't really have a reason NOT to help them. His mission is to stop the Flood from spreading, and he will do whatever it takes to accomplish that. This is shown in Halo: CE when he is willing to kill off a reclaimer (the MC) because the MC not only refuses to help him, but stands in the way of his mission.

No offence, but this is the absolutely the most stupid theory I have ever encountered.

A) 343 Guilty Spark's purpose is to monitor the installation and when in need.. launch the Halo installation 04. (Which though was destroyed by MC and Cortana).

343 GS didn't want to tell MC the WHOLE truth, because it knew that if MC would have heared that he is destroying humans, covenants and everything else for the greater good.. to contain the outbreak.

On the other hand GS could talk quite freely to the 'heretics' since they seemed to be in a position where they could not muchly do anything about it. Or maybe it just had to tell them to convince them.

So we clearly see that 343 Guilty Spark hasn't allied with anyone, though he agrees with anyone trying to activate halo(s). Why would 343GS make a pact with the flood, since 343GS wants to active the halo, flood doesn't.

343GS didn't tell the MC the "truth" because he thought the MC already *knew* exactly what the Halos did.

I never said that 343GS would want to ally withe the Flood for no reason. If you read my post carefully, I said that, if the Flood decided to activate the Halos (i.e. commite mass-suicide), then he would help them do so. I was using this as a way to describe why 343GS is with the humans in Halo: CE, and then the Covenant in Halo 2. It isn't a practical situation, merely a way to describe something.

True but how do we know that the other Halo's dont take the same Index as 04... we dont now do we... and now MC dosn't have the Index Gravemind does unless Cortana dumped the data to a "secure" computer then the Covenant have it conserding that Earth is a ball of flame now.

we know the halos have no effect on the flood. they are built to kill all other life, to starve the Flood to death.
so they cant really commit mass suicied

Getting rid of their food and starving themselves is considered mass suicide. That doesn't change the fact that I'm against this. Just pointing that out.

we've all played Halo 1 im assueming...but no one has actualy read the thread properly have they? Soda said that GS 343 has gone rampant or crazy because of a FAULT that hasnt been fixed because there are no Forerunner around. so he's not saying he is programed to be evil you guys just miss-read the thread and then started to flame it for a reason not related to the thread.

Now we know that we all have played the game... but have u read the books??? Because if u have then u know that the avrage life span for an AI is 7 years... 343 has been alive for hundeds of years... in turn he's INSAIN... happy now?

Sorry. I didn't mis-read it. During his role in Halo he was helping MC try and destroy the Flood. This meaning he's still working. I can see the whole not working because he can't be fixed since no one is there to do so, but he was trying to activate the Halos to destroy the Floods food. This means he couldn't have "sided" with the Flood.

I have read the books and thats the Average life for a Smart AI and thats only for HUMAN AI's we know that the Forerunners are excedingly more technologicaly advanced then us. so 343 might have a AI life span of 6 billion years...we know they have master Slipspace travle and can control Plasma (all in the books) so 343 is alot better than a Human AI...thus why Soda said it might be a Fualt.

One flaw: 343 was dead set on activating the halo's in the first game. And he was more than willing to kill the chief for it.

in halo 3 i believe that not only the gravemind has Cortana but also GS343,

the only one who has 343 GSS in his clutches was Johnson, as shown in the final cutscene of halo 2. Also, 343 never even came in contact with Gravemind.

Also read the Conversations of the Universe: The installation is ruined and the only good news is that the Flood Breach has been halted.

He may have been working then, but he has had to live through a catostrophic explosion (Halo 1) and constant threats and being sucked to Tartarus hammer this all could of meddled with him and he coulda gone wonrg at these times.

yeah and i have a feeling that the hammer does something because i don't think he would yell like that if it didn't "hurt" him.
