I'm a sniper from back in the days of the origional QuakeWorld Team Fortress, and I like a good challenging sniper rifle match... But in Halo: Combat Evolve, I found that the sniper rifle was way to easy to use in the game...

I personally would like it to act like:

lowered rate of fire
the more you move, the more inaccurate the gun becomes, like in games like Return to Castle Wolfenistein (where I feel that sniping is a challenge somewhat)

It was as bad as the pistol IMO, but I still would wish that I could feel like I am actually skilled this time around when using the sniper rifle in Halo 2...

Another reason I ask is because I don't want to see every little wanna be saying he is a "elite sniper"... 9 times out of 10, they would whine in games where the sniper rifle was a pain in the arse to use. Those games (like QWTF) was where I truely enjoyed the art of sniping =]

And also it tracks your target a little bit.
I don't mind it being so powerful, its realistic but I would like to see when your in zoom mode, the reticule move. I don't mind that much though.

In my group the guys run out into the open with the sniper rifle and sprint back and forth with it looking for "battles"

A Sniper Scope should never be stable at a run... heck, without being prone and using a bipod I'd expect it to move quite a bit.

There was a police officer in an event recently that was given a medal. What did he do? The target managed to get away and was at an odd angle, he rose up from a prone position and sniped him from a kneeling position.

That's it. He shot him while kneeling so they gave him a medal because they know just how hard that shot is to make.

Sniper is fine as is. Chief was trained to keep a nice grip and a sturdy hand on that thing.......*looks side to side* I'm going to stop now before I rant.

Master Cheif can hold it steady because he is a Spartan and his hands NEVER move unless he wants them to, therefore, no shaking.

Imagine how good the Spartan Linda would be at sniping, it's her best attribute in the books.

Sniped out 5 Banshee pilots in First Strike. All on her first shot for each.

First off, I could careless about how a "gun is support to be" in the background of the story/books. Hindering the experence of gamers is still hindering the experence...

Sniping wasn't a challenge in the first game, I want it to actually be something to be complemented for when I use it...

That's the point. I'm not impressed with Linda's abilities even if she's supposedly their best sniper. I've done better. In Hitman 2 I've succesfully climbed a tower, taken position and watched two targets having a meeting. I waited, I watched and I chose my moment. My bullet drove itself through the heads of both targets at a distance of one hundred fifty yards. At 150 yards there is some serious dip and bounce.

You just can't make that claim in Halo. There's just no shot that difficult, nothing that even comes close.

Vehicle I found the most difficult, but if you can get to the side it's not much of a challenge... and I don't want to see sniper rifles as close combat weapons like I see in C&C Renegade...
