Do not waste your tears, I was not born to watch the world grow dim. Life is not measured in years, but by the deeds of men.

Halo legends was terrible, way too cheesy and contradicted canon. The 2 forerunner novels contradict the Halo 3 terminals and they were kinda stupid Glasslands was written by an author who knows nothing of Halo, though thats not my MAJOR problem with the book,my problem was the story.
So based on Halo legends and 3 poor quality novels i can see where 343i is going with the story and what they are doing with it. You cant really call 343I a game developer, they are more of a Halo milking machine with a special child (cant use the R word) aka Frankie at the helm.
Also 343 keeps contradicting and changing canon, so based on all they have done i can be sure that Halo 4 will be a failure (expect to the kids who would buy ANYTHING with a halo label on it)
I will agree with you there, the quality of Legends was all over the place.
In the intro to Cryptum, Bornstellar says that Forerunner history is excessively convoluted. The terminals and the novels are canon but the events may not have happened exactly as portrayed. Plus, the terminals take place around the firing of the Halos. They have not yet gotten to that point in the trilogy because the books occur before the terminals. There is still plenty of time for Bear to tie the books with the terminals.
Glasslands had its ups and downs, if you would like to discuss them at length feel free to create a thread about it.
I think you should wait until they actually release a game before you judge all their efforts. There is a difference between a good retcon and a bad one. Sometimes canon might need some rewriting.
