Since I've recently read a little about the Forerunners, and having a recent dream with the Flood in it, I decided to create a fan story. Here we go...It all starts out during the Ancient Human/Flood War.

I lay here atop this roof of our beloved city. Down below, what used to be polished streets is now coated with a mass of bodies, the bodies of my fallen brothers. Here atop this roof, I hear their gurgles and their piercing cries as they lurk in the shadows down there, and it haunts me. I am alone.

The communication box beside me lays in silence, of which men discussed wisdom through the static. The warriors that have fought beside me not too long ago are nowhere. I fear they have departed, whether in life or in death.

The city was quickly filthed with the Flood a few days ago, the time I have been sitting here. Though, I forget my purpose here. What was it? The noises below are distracting, almost as distracting as the stars and planets above my head. I lay in awe at them. NO! I WILL NOT DRIFT OFF SUBJECT! Just then I realized a weapon in my cold, dry hands. Recon mission. Thats the purpose, to watch the threat's movements.

I notice stalks twisted around the taller structures. They wiggle and turn. A lingering stench fills my nostrils. I wonder more. The Forerunners. Do they know of the situation? Have they known of the rest of the survivors taking flight? Off to other worlds? Maybe to the Forerunner territories? The Didact will not be pleased. I wonder. I wonder more today than the past days. I think these thoughts as I clench my piece of Precursor metal my father gifted me with at my birth.

I mainly wrote this just for fun after reading the first few chapters of Primordium, and to post here to see how people like my writing. Sorry in advance for any misspellings or other non-canoncal and non-sense things.

Give feedback if possible, thanks :D
