If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

The whole production from Halo:CE leading up to Halo 3. The writers, the artist and the guys and gals who made it all happen. From the cutscenes to the novels, lets not forget those who poured out thier friday nights to send off the weekly updates.

It was just the atmosphere in general. It was a brillient time to play Halo and to be a part of B.net. Everything was buzzing with activity, good or bad. Whether it be the hype left off from H2 cliffhanger. The infamous Halo:CE legendary guide on B.net back in the old days, or just the brillient fiction we got from novels such as Fall of Reach or Ghost of Onyx that had us jaw dropped about the mysteries of the Halo Universe and we had to talk about it on b.net.

I can't quite capture it. But it's just dead now. Now it's just this. Maybe when a new game comes out it'll all come back. But to me, those were the glory days of b.net. Maybe it's all nostalgia but the community and the amazing support, was definitely there.

The pinnacle of Bungie's writing, in my opinion, is the scene where Johnson dies in Halo 3.

Not sure if sarcasm...

A little ball killing the most badass Marine there is to live? I disagree...

Not everyone can die in a last stand, and if they did, it would be a romanticized mess, not something believable. Same thing with Kat's death, the most profound one (except N6's) because of the immediateness of it.

Halo 2 is the best thing to ever come out of Bungie PERIOD!!!!!

Halo:CE started a revolution, and became a Legend.

Halo 2: Changed Online Gaming Forever! it spawned every competitive FPS of today and tomorrow. H2 will be known as "The King", and the foundation of MLG, and Competitive Shooting at its peak!

Halo 3: ehhh....well it was still competitive and fun...a worthy successor to carry the Halo name.

Lol-Reach: DAHFUG WERE YOU A-- HOLES THINKING????? Just cause you were saying goodbye to Halo doesn't mean you have to destroy it so no one else could continue its legacy.

Bungie could have gone out with a Glorious Farewell, BUT after the Lol-Reach Apocalypse two things are obvious,

1. You guys didn't know WTF you were doing!

2. You guys wanted to EF' UP Halo on purpose, and didn't give a Rat's A-- about the chaos it caused in the community!

I would've taken the Bungie guys all out to a (T) -itty Bar for some Drinks and celebrate their success,

BUT after the major "F U everybody and goodnight suckaz!" Bungie did on the world with Lol-Reach I would rather take them to a Taliban Prison Cave after dressing them up like American Pin Up Girls in Red, White and Blue!

Theater mode, hands down. Screenshots and the ability to create uniqe montages and machinimas, just perfect. Their new title needs to keep have this.

The music in ODST, the trench run in CE, The two scarab fight in Halo 3 and LNOS in Reach.

This plus so many more that I can not list them.

I have a special place for ODST in my heart.

Lol-Reach: DAHFUG WERE YOU A-- HOLES THINKING?????

I am gonna make a stab in the dark and guess that you are one of the "A-- HOLES" who mindlessly asked bungie to nerf everything about reach that made it unique.

Like i get that you enjoyed the other halo games, but really? Are you gonna sit there and complain just because you start getting your but handed to you by a chick using a jet pack or you can't handle a sniper camping and don't know that armour lock is easily dealt with by standing back 3 meters?

Halo Reach is an enjoyable game, did you not know that half of the ideas were meant to be included in halo 2 but had to be cut out, and then the ideas slowly went into halo 3 then fully bloomed into reach. Oh and BTW, you now have sprint in halo, I didn't hear you say thank you after all those years of asking them to include it!

Hey man, as much as I like Reach, I'm seriously gonna have to ask you to can it. We're not trying to start a flame war here.

I personally loved the double XP weekends on Halo 3, especially Living Dead. So much fun and lulz were had.

I too miss the double XP weekends, so much fun destroying zombies and the only time my wife would ever play video games with me was for Grifball, and she wrecked people with the gravity hammer.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

I'm going to have to say Halo multiplayer in general. Revolutionary.

  • 02.04.2012 2:46 PM PDT

Playing Halo 2's campaign for the first time and seeing the great schism happening, still remember the goosebumps I got when blow me away started playing in the mausoleum of the arbiter and just watching the brutes fight the elites/hunters.

Overall I just love the campaign/story/music of the halo games... really pulled me in a way I cant explain.
Multiplayer was good fun too of course.

on the contrary! Lol-Reach is far too easy to play and Jet-Packs are pretty much a "Hey Shoot Me" target flares, and using them takes no skill. Check my stats, I hardly play Lol-Reach and when I do, I do pretty good and sometimes really great, but the fun is gone and its not competitive.

I've gotten many kills on MM without using vehicles, its easy to hit the 60s club on Lol-Reach, Hell on one of my games I got 75 Kills! Yet the whole time I was (yawn....) BORING! I had to fight to stay awake during that game. Yeah try that on H3 or H2 were people had skill gaps.

ArmorLock is pretty much a "Thanks for letting me reload so I can finish you off" trap, And yes I too am guilty of abusing its simplicity and using it to murder kids without effort. And here I thought the Street Fighter button combos were supposedly gone, Lol-Reach has the (X,B,X or X,LB,X-AL,Melee,AL) and the (X,RT,X-Sprint,Sword,Sprint- same for Melee,) and (LT,X,LT and repeat-Nade,ArmorLock,Nade)

I adapted and do better in Lol-Reach than the other Halos because Lol-Reach is a Noob-freindly game (Bungie themselves said that!). Even my little cousins get many kills on Lol-Reach, but when they play H3 they get slaughtered yet they say that H3 is more fun.

I never actually told Bungie to nerf anything just to remove the stupid Bloom. AA's are easy to use but they dont belong in a Halo, just Invis-OverShield and both should be timed and picked up. Actually the COD guys should be thanking Bungie for taking "their" Sprint and adding it to Lol-Reach, I myself am NOT a COD fan, Also adding Gears Of War Evade was real original.......

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark here and assume your one the members of the "Defense Force", shouldn't you guys be playing Lol-Reach right now? Your game is dying and needs you, get off the forums and get to work. LoL!

Your opinion on the best thing Bungie ever did? Go ahead. Spit it out, please. Mine is honestly the Silent Cartographer level from Halo: CE.

I'm not sure I could give one particular point, because thinking about all of it is just one big nostalgia rush ^-^

I'm frickin working for Bungie someday!

Playing halo, especially with with friends. I don't know hat it is about this game but it just makes me happy when I play it. I could have the worst day of my life, but all I would need is some Halo to make everything better. Goddamn, i'm literally radiating with adrenaline and excitement reminiscing in the past as I type this. The whole setup of Bungie.net is pretty awesome to, makes for building a good community. Also, Bungie's kickass attitude towards everything.

<------Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 emblem.

The best thing for me in Halo history was the Halo 2 era. Those were amazing days. I joined late because I only got Xbox Live in 2006, although I got Halo 2 in 2004.

December 21, 2006 was my first online Halo 2 and Xbox Live game. From there, I've spent countless hours playing my favorite series.

Why are you here?

One of them is how they pulled through Halo 2.

  • 02.04.2012 6:16 PM PDT

Golf Wang. Brony.

I only got into real gaming when I got my 360 less than a year before Halo 3, so I sadly couldn't experience Halo 2 in its prime. During those dark times playing Sonic 06 (I wasn't too bright about what games are out there back then) a cousin showed me the light with Halo 2. Played through that and was amazed. Then I played Halo CE and HOLY CRAP SILENT CARTOGRAPHER ASSAULT ON THE CONTROL ROOM SO GOOD. Then I found the Halo 3 train my promptly got my ass a ticket to board it.

Yep, those were the glory days of Bungie to me, especially when compared to today. The lead up to Halo 3 and realizing what was out there, from the community to the EU, was immense. Playing the game; even better. Talking about Halo 3 on the forums and watching the machinima and the community support; just awesome. My enthusiasm carried on until Halo 3: ODST, and it was then I realized those days were slowly coming to an end.

I really enjoy how over the past decade, Bungie was really able to pull a sense of community together. Not many game industries actually interact and do fun things for their community.

During the making of Halo Games, it was all about taking that LAN party setting to Xbox Live and Bungie did way early with Halo 2. The were the first company to actually bring that experience online to the console.

Halo was always about having those good times playing with friends you know. Just staying up in the morning until 5 and sleeping the next day was always fun on the weekend. Bungie just likes to interact with the community, and if not for that I know I wouldn't be here as long as I have.

Hosting games for the community like Bungie Pentathlon and Bungie Day always brings newer members in and makes the community stronger. I'm excited to see what Bungie does with the next decade and the new project they're working on.
