Will we be able to keep our matchmaking ranks in Rumble Pit and Team Slayer when we cross over from Halo 2 to Halo 3?

I hope so, I've worked hard for my level 42 and want to keep it for as long as possible.

Plus it would be unfair to start everyone out at the same level when some of us have more Halo experience than others. Just a thought/question.

Sorry, but I don't think they can 'transfer' your Halo 2 levels onto Halo 3. It would work out to have everyone start over in my point of view, considering that no one cheats. Oh, and who said that they are going to have the same level system or matchmaking???

I'm trying to provide ideas that will help the Halo Community. I suggest you not just sit back and take it but instead take charge.

But if they eliminate standby, BXR, RXB, BLT, and crack down on modders some of us won't be able to get back to our previous levels. :( That's not really fair. We already peaked in Halo2. We shouldn't be expected to do it all over again.

Yeah, I just now learned how to superbounce and Halo 2 has been out over a year and a half. I don't want to have to relearn all that junk.

I think what he meant to say is:

If you attained your current level in a legitimate manner, you should be able to do so in Halo 3. If you didn't then that is too bad, for you are a cheater and should be banned from even playing Halo 3.

They reset the ranks last summer when the new maps were released. If they reset the ranks for new maps, do you really think they won't reset the ranks for a new game? Your lack of basic reasoning skills astounds me.

Are you speculating that Halo 3 will have no matchmaking?

  • 05.17.2006 1:54 PM PDT

i hope Halo 3 doesnt have any ranks...or if they do hopefully they are not visible...i think ranks only create more cheating/modding...if your good then they should match you with people your skill level but they dont have to show it

You cannot cheat on something that does not exist.

RANKS ARE THE MAIN REASON TO PLAY HALO. I GOT MINE A WHILE AGO AND NOW I ONLY PLAY ON MY GARBAGE ACCOUNT. IF THERE WERNT RANKS THEN NOBODY WOULD PLAY IT. THEY SHOULD KEEP HTE HALO2 RANKS CUZ U KNOW THAT THE GAMEPLAY WILL BE BASICLY THE SAME.

I hope so, I've worked hard for my level 42 and want to keep it for as long as possible.

Plus it would be unfair to start everyone out at the same level when some of us have more Halo experience than others. Just a thought/question.

I sure hope they do, especially if MP plays more like Halo:CE than Halo2, cuz then we get to see who really deserves those ranks when everythings balanced out

Would it be safe to assume that you would like the pistol from Halo: CE in Halo 3 as well?

Personally, yes i would. But if they don't i'm not gonna whine about it. As much as i love the pistol, it wasn't the only part of Halo:Ce that made it the more balanced multiplayer.
