I can understand cutting nameplates, although I don't see why they would need to. Killing the API service is a dick move though, and not offering rendering service doesn't make any sense at all. I mean, it's potentially a constant revenue stream.
It almost feels like 343 have been tasked with killing off any interest in Reach altogether. Their website is repulsive, their stat tracking is bland, slow, and shallow, the forums are garbage, and their PR person BS Angel is an aggravating twit.
Reach might not be as cleanly competitive as Halo 3, but it was a solid game with very few bugs, backed up with an awesome website. After March 31st, Reach will just be the mediocre second hand car 343 bought cheap to drive into the ground.
I wonder if we can get a decent underground community set up on XBC or something. Looks like it might be necessary at some point in the future, given the trend that's developing. Seriously? That's what keeps you interested in Reach? Yeah, I don't think so. I think you're just being a drama queen like all the forum's cool kids.
What's made Reach not as solid of a game? With Anniversary's better maps and TU settings, the game actually feels more solid to me.
Tell me why an API should be a priority to 343, not just for a broken game that they didn't even make in the first place, but for the overall good of Halo. Halo CE and Halo 2 didn't have community websites anyway connected to them and they're probably the most successful Halos. Do you even know how an API is made; how much resources and time it takes? I doubt it.
Personally, I couldn't care less about their website, their stat tracking, or their forums. All I care about is killing aliens or other players. That's what Halo's all about for me. If Reach is ruined for you because you don't like their website (boo hoo), or their stat tracking (cry me a river), then leave Reach and leave Halo. Good riddance. Go play Call of Duty and work your way back up to Halo.
