For the love of GOD! When do you people stop -blam!-ing. Okay, if you read the last weakly review, Bungie doesn't listen to reviews without a little LITTLE change. The Arbiter dying is huge.

Now you bunch of crips, what the -blam!- is wrong with the Arbiter. He's an alien, so were African's for a long time (Sorry). He's an elite, who is more loyal than any of you idiots. He added a part of the story that the Master Chief could never have done. The Arbiter brings back a personality in HUMANS that hasn't existed since the MIDDLE AGES. He is loyal to the things that tried to kill him, make him go on suicide missions, and the things that rejected and tortured him. Even when he was dissobaying the prophets and was comitting herassy, he was still protecting the GODDAMNED COVENANT. For you idiots who only like gameplay, why do you give a damn! You get to use the sword and Banshees a lot as he Arbiter. The only difference is that there's one less finger in your face, and one is converted to a thumb. There's only about FIVE PREVIOUSE THREADS ABOUT THIS! QUIT YOUR -blam!-IN'. You have no god damn reason to get rid of the Arbiter beyond the fact that you can't advance beyond the part of monkeys in the fact that you can't adjust to change, even when it makes things better. Did you notice that almost everyone preferse the second game over the first. People like using the sword. As the Arbiter, you use it a LOT more as the Arbiter than the Master Chief.

I honestly wish Bungie would shut down these threads, because they're so -blam!- retarded. You dumbasses are messing with a good thing.

The Arbiter is what made Halo2 so great. If all we did was the MC missions, it wouldn't be as fun. And if it wasn't for the Arbiter, humanity would have been destroyed.

The Arbiter smelled of rotten fish covered in day old barf... the smell was coming out of my xbox so I couldn't play the levels...

the Arbiter wasn't that bad... sure it wasn't MC but it wasn't bad... you guys make it sound as though he was trying to steal the spot light... oh... he was?

I didn't really like the Arbiter mission because they were dark and Floody. The Elite teamates were quite good though. Maybe make it one person as the Chief and one person as the Arbiter in Co-Op? Online Co-op

That is an awsome Idea. My bro likes playing as Arbiter for the sword, and I like Chief for the Battle Rifle, or Assault Rifle in the next game.

Though you really did need to be the Arbiter to really establish the fact that the elites were rebelling. It sort of brought that whole thing to life, whereas if you weren't the Arbiter, it woulent make as much sense.

Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

Keep the arbiter in through the whole game, but end it playing as the chief. That should appease the whiners without having a Kenny McCormack death in the opening cutscene.

ARBITER: "And where, Oracle, is that?"
*a section of the upper platform spontaneously breaks off and crushes and kills the Arbiter*
JOHNSON: "Oh, my God, they killed Arby!"
KEYES: "You bastards!"

I pose this question to those who want him to die immediately: how could it happen without being completely lame and pointless?

The Arbiter was an incredible character. He's deeper and cooler in a lot of ways than the Chief. Seeing the Covenant side of the story was great. Your "here's why" is dumb. Halo 2's ending sucked because it wasn't an ending at all. The story wasn't finished. Gameplay wise in Halo 2, I generally preferred playing the Chief's levels, but only because I don't really like fighting against the Flood. Both are incredibly badass characters and I hope they even put in a new, intelligent character of the Flood for Halo 3 to show their side of the story too. Tha'd be awesome.

I think that the Arbiter-playing was vital to Halo 2's storyline (for the herecy, the whole him finding out about the "Great Journey" B.S., the covy civil war), but I think he shouldn't be nearly as vital to H3's story, since it seems to be focusing a lot on the situation on earth. Also, since this seems to be the last of the Halo series, it will most likely focus on the humans and MC, since that is really what it is all about (the Covies were the enemies before... the humans were always the main characters).

Let me clear one thing up, you dumb -blam!-s. If you cut out the Arbiter, the flood levels are gone. Chief is on Earth, what flood is there, have any of you dumbasses ever seen a little infected form in your backyard? How about a combat form from Germany. Didn't think so. I know the possibility that it was on the construct under the African sands, so just to stop an entir conversation, here you go. We have lived on Earth for millions of years, in that time, there could have been plenty of chances for the flood to break free, along with the fact that the thing was burried and the flood probably wasn't in the place that was meant to activate the rings (If it is the Ark) as a last resort. If there was flood on an uninhabited planet, why would they give a damn, especially when those flood would starve anyway. If you can figure out any problems with this, send them to me, not this thread.

the arbiter was a complete surprise to all of us...wich was cool as -blam!-. its was the kinda twist that makes a great game and he is vital to the story because bungie says he is..!! i for one cant wait to play as him and anyone else they say is vital. i also would like to see him upgraded with mcs armor...fitted to him of corse

I'll say it here and I'll say it loud!!! THE ARBRITER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same people who hated playing as the Arbiter are the same people who make short spam posts and don't follow the story much. The Arbiter bashers never got over the shock of playing as an Elite and probably complained when they had to "play as the al3in d00d again". They obviously can't see how incoherent the covenant side of the plot would be without the Arbiter. Imagine if all that was left of the Arbiter's campaign was a few cutscenes before and after every level. Could you really piece together what was going on?

I think some Halo fans are too conservative and complain about any new gameplay aspects that weren't force fed to them before they actually played the game. They saw things like the weakened pistol and the Arbiter and just couldn't take it.They exclaimed that Halo was "ruined" when there were only changes in the gameplay. To some, Halo will always be about gameplay, and changing the formula will only confuse and enrage them. There's no way to please them, because all they want is more of the same. To play with the same pistol, to view the game from the Chiefs eye's 100% of the time and to kill things. You would think these people would watch a sequel to a movie they've seen, and expect to see all the sames scenes, the same lines and the same music with a few tweaks in setting.

These people don't see Halo as a cohesive story, they see it as a multiplayer game with a campaign.

You people definiately do not respect the great story that is Halo.
Who's the closest character to Cortana?
Who's the only character who even knows the Ark exists?

So , give it up for the Arbiter because he is going to be there saving the universe with Master Chief whether you want him too or not.
Exactly. The arbiter is now a main character and not playing as him will be like not playing as MC.

Wrong. He's only been in one Halo game.
I never said that he was in both games, i just said that NOW he is a major part of the story.

No you said the not playing as the arbiter will be like not playing as MC. And he is not NOW a major part of the story... he WAS a major part of the story.

IN YOUR OPINION
My opinion BASED OFF OF FACT is he IS and WILL BE an important character in Halo 3.

Little outta hand guys?

O wait a minute, Bungie changing the focus is why we're having this conversation in the first place. Sorry, had to, it just jumped out at me.

Exactly. Did the MC ever stop the rings from firing? I got very confused the first game, they seemed so worried even though Guilty Spark couldnt activate the rings. Now the Flood really cant be stopped. Fire the halos, theres a huge hole in the network the flood can hide in. Wouldnt be surprised if the MC screwed the galaxy.

The arbiter needs to be in halo 3 because he is the leader of the elite rebelion at the end of halo 2. He is going to lead an elite fleet back earth with Johnson and commander Keys to help MC fight the Burtes and the Prophets.

Well the thing about two campaigns, none of them would be official. And think about the forums...(Guy that has played Arbiter campaign) Why does that metal tube at the end of the 3rd level keep beeping like that? (Guy that has only played MC campaign) What are you talking about? Crazy!
