Aesthetics is an art, your body is the canvas, weights are your brush and nutrition is your paint. We all have the ability to turn a self portrait into a masterpiece
I need to preface this statment by first saying that actuall playlist ranks and multiple ranked playlists NEED to make a comeback, for a multitude of reasons.
Firstly, to seperate players. I mean this in the nicest of ways when i say that i hate playing players significantly worse than me; it makes the game less fun. Reach MM right now is like sitting at the park chess table, and having nothing but senile old men and young children to play, with the occasional grandmaster soming along to spank you. What sets halo appart from every other shooter is skill gap and level of competition, whether it be on the MLG circuit or between doubles 50's or in gamebattles leagues. Excluding reach, every other halo has thrived years after its release for this very reason.
Also, very few amazing teams would spend their time roflstomping little timmy longstocking and his 3 friends at a split screen sleepover; for the most part they would rather rank up in a more balanced, skill oriented playlist. The trend i see now is kids complaining about getting matched consistently against full teams and getting worked, and the full teams demanding some sort of stricter playlist restrictions. This isn't like a seperation of classes; it is more like having multiple leagues within the game; intramural/ mens league, that sort of thing.
Although the playlist exp update back in h3 made plying each list more entertaining and offered something more to go for, at times it didn't cut it. The grind to the higher playlist ranks took a long time and sometimes became more of an arduous chore more than anything; gaining 2 types of exp (for winning and also credits), it would give players a multitude of things to work for in tandem. This is probably one of the reasons COD has such staying power; you are constantly working to unlock different things, whether it be killstreaks, guns, perks or more. And regardless what anyone says, they to some degree wnjoy "dressing up their spartan". Whether it be goofy or serious, most people relish in the ability to make an online avatar that can seperate themselves from a crowd of faceless voices.
The armory also needs alot more content. For reals, how hard would it have been to have visor colors matching the rainbow? Or customizable tints? Or multiple sets of armor pertaining to skill sets (sniper, CQB, pilot/driver, stealth,)? I'm not asking for skyrim level of customizations, just enough items that it could take over a year to unlock them all. Even tie some pieces into acheievements as long as they aren't related to onlin MP.
/my 2 cents. Although the focus on h4 should bea quality MP gameplay build, haveing a buttload of content would make it legendary. The spartans need to look sexy like in h3/h2.
