Subject: Auto-Responders....Do you use it?

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

-Master Chief

I never get pm's so never need the Auto-Responder.

Neither do I. I still have one to mess with the group-invite spammers, though. :3

No, and simply because I can't link to anything in them. And also because I'm never away for so long that I'd need it (since that's even why they exist).

I just made a great one.

Try me, -blam!-s.

If you are watching this you have clicked on my profile or stolen this. I dont know why you would do that...

About me? I love Astronomy, I like to play guitar and watch anime. My future lies in Astronomy and so does the future of all of humanity. You should join my Astronomy group Space Explorers.

No, I do not use it and neither do I read them. Most of the times they are only saying "I won't read your message", "I do not accept group invites", "What am I banned for this time" and so on. If the auto respond isn't relevant to my message, then I won't bother reading it, and auto responders are pretty much never relevant either.

I do not mind other people using it though, just don't expect me to read them.

Auto-Responders are a great tool for the egotistical whores of this website that think they are a big deal.

You aren't a business executive, a CEO, the chief of police, a celebrity, nothing. You are just some kid on the internet. Do you really need an auto responder? Oh, that's right, you are getting 5+ PMs an hour, -blam!- is necessary.

Employee and Ninjas should be the only people able to use it, because there is almost nobody else that it serves a purpose for. Maybe a couple of the notable attention whores of the website, but I mean, damn, especially in this day and age, considering how dead this community is at the moment, you just don't need it.

I don't need to know that you'll get back to me as soon as possible, obviously you are going to, it's not like the lack of an auto responder delays inbox reaction time. Or, the best are the auto responses saying that you aren't interested in group invites. The invite has been sent, and you are going to read it anyways, what purpose did that response serve. You aren't hot -blam!- when you are sent group invites, you are just on the receiving end of a mass copypasta, the sender knows very well that 95% of the people the message was sent to won't be interested and won't reply, you don't need to tell them. Making your message say "don't PM me -blam!-", or "now what am I banned for" doesn't make you come off as hard, it's just immature as hell.

Just an unnecessary means for whores to act like they are worth anything on this website, and nothing more.

The only exception I can make is if you are hosting some kind of an event, and need a temporary auto responder to answer common questions. Otherwise .. nope.

-snip!-
Considering it probably takes the space of about 3 minutes (maximum) to type out a well thought out, polite response to somebody you don't wish to talk to, and that there is very little that is going to happen in the span of that 3 minutes that it's worth being a bit of a prick by not giving the person those 3 minutes of decency... it really doesn't make sense to have one.

(In short: "This." In paragraph format: see above.)

I've only ever used it when I'm out of town and can't access Bungie.net.

I'd feel bad sending a generic "Why you spam me with group invites?!?!?" responses to people with legitimate questions, or even a simple "I'll get back to you later" would seem awkward to me.
