smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Pretty sure he died in the Highland mountains.

Ok, that comic, while awesome indeed, is fictional. And I'm pretty sure Bungie stated that Jun is alive.

They said that he survived the events of the gamne, they didn't say he survived the battle of Reach - which, of course, he didn't because the Autumn was the last exfiltration craft on the planet until John turned up to pick up Red Team and Halsey in the Ascendant Justice. And, as we all [should] know, Jun was not there.

Ergo, whilst he remains in a state of canonical limbo, for all intents and purposes he is dead.

Also, FFoA isn't canon, OP.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

We've beaten this topic to death...

Fistful of Arrows is not canon. Jun is dead.

"This is the prototype NOVA Bomb, nine fusion warheads encased in lithium triteride armor. When detonated, it compresses its fusionable material to neutron-star density, boosting the thermonuclear yield a hundredfold. I am Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb, temporarily in command of the UNSC military base Reach. To the Covenant uglies that might be listening, you have a few seconds to pray to your damned heathen gods. You all have a nice day in hell..."

hey didn't say he survived the battle of Reach - which, of course, he didn't because the Autumn was the last exfiltration craft on the planet until John turned up to pick up Red Team and Halsey in the Ascendant Justice

...is that so? So how do you explain the survival of SGT Johnson from the destruction of installation 04? Before the book was written, he had a cats chance in hell of surviving the flood and the explosion, until it was later written how he managed to survive...

Some things can't be explained at the time they happen, they just need time, and if the gods deem Jun fit of a sub-story or better, then we shall find out how/if he survived Reach...

Actually, Bungie said that they weren't done with Jun's story, and Frank O'Conner hinted at him still being alive.

I hope Jun is dead. He was the most bland character in the game.

"I kill the enemy, but do not hate them"

Yeah... The generic "sentimental sniper" strikes again. I would've even preferred Carter to survive rather than him.

Hey "sniper hater" person snipers are sopose to be bland because they are sopose to be quiet and stealth like. Allso read hints that Halo: Glasslands & Halo: P......( can't remember what it is called) are sopose to tell what happens to the Dr. , Juno (Jun in the books), and the leftover Sparten III's. Can't wait till Halo 4!!!!!!!!

So because one uses a sniper, they have to have a bland and generic personality? Don't defend poor characterisation.

And I have no idea what the hell you're talking about here.

Why do some people say jun is john? Like..really? Sure they are green..and have "J" for the 1st letter of their names..and juns 2nd color on his armor is blue..and john was part of blue team..hmm..

There is very little chance that Jon is Jun.

No they didn't. After Reach, they had no further input in Halo's story so they couldn't have said this.

and Frank O'Conner hinted at him still being alive.

Again, he said nothing of the sort. In fact, he said that 343i have absolutely no plans to continue anything with Jun.

Pacis Per Regnum

Whilst events that took place in First Strike are currently canon we cannot ignore that The Fall of Reach was once also canon. This, of course, lasted until Bungie released Halo Reach. Ultimately whether Jun is alive or not or when, where, how, and why he died are now up to 343 Industries. As we know many events in First Strike happen only because of the non-canon story of The Fall of Reach, so I wouldn't count on First Strike staying canon. However I would like to point out that this is ONI we're talking about so if Halsey and Jun survived it would be covered up before you could say 'Section Three'

1) TFOR is still canon.

2) First Strike will not be invalidated as a source of canon.

3) Read Ghosts of Onyx and Glasslands.

4) Since Jun isn't at CASTLE when John arrives to pick up Halsey and Red Team in the Ascendant Justice, it's evident that he's dead because the Pillar of Autumn was the last exfiltration craft on the planet.

Generally you're right. Though realistically it must be admitted that the story could be retconned to allow Jun to get off the rock that is Reach by a means other than the PoA or the events in First Strike without causing too many ripples in the canon.

I'm not saying that it should, or that I think it's perfectly fine to change canon at a whim, but there is interesting story potential with Jun, and I'd like to see that flesh out.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

It's not canon, but man, is that comic awesome!

So they'll pick up ONE Spartan, but not any of the high-ranking personal like Admiral Whitcomb and the other dozen or so S-IIs still alive on Reach?

Admiral Whitcomb was hiding and most of the S-IIs were engaged in battle to defend the generators. Jun could have left along with the rest of the CASTLE base staff.

What do you want me to do? Justify one of several possibilities of a scenario that hasn't, and may never, happen? No, I'm not doing that.
