Subject: If your wondering what happened to Jun...

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Generally you're right. Though realistically it must be admitted that the story could be retconned to allow Jun to get off the rock that is Reach by a means other than the PoA or the events in First Strike without causing too many ripples in the canon.

So they'll pick up ONE Spartan, but not any of the high-ranking personal like Admiral Whitcomb and the other dozen or so S-IIs still alive on Reach?

What do you want me to do? Justify one of several possibilities of a scenario that hasn't, and may never, happen? No, I'm not doing that.

Didn't ask you to, just pointing out a flaw.

That's why it's called retconning. If it fit flawlessly into canon, everything would be just peachy.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I don't understand why people keep bringing Jun up. Frankie already said he doesn't plan on using him and didn't Bungie state he was dead in the Legendary edition? Either way, I'd let it go.

That retcon isn't very logical.

It has been stated that he is dead
Source? I want a source of where those exact words were said. He was mentioned that he might not have a story, but it doesn't rule out his fate. Frankie did give a small hint. Oh and by the way, anything fan made is NOT considered canon without authorization from that of the 343i staff. Even if it were canon, it still does not reveal his fate.

Just a min I'll supply a source if that makes you happy. And I didn't say it was canon, I just said it was canonically accurate. Dont be hatin. I just thought it was a good and fitting death for the story and that most would bee satisfied with it even though its not official
Still waiting. Death? That comic never revealed his death!

Its kinda hard to go through interviews for the specific moment. BTW its obvious that he died. I mean really Halsey even said he would die if he went out there. The end of the comic was mean to imply that he died. I mean really it was a fitting end as good as 343 or Bungie could have made it. It would ruin it if suddenly a sequel came out and showed that he survived randomly after that awesome ending. I dont know if your just arrogant or trolling
I'm not following a comic made by a fan. I follow true halo lure that is canon approved. What you can infer from the interviews is the upcoming sequel with Jun and Halsey having babies =]

.........Now I know your trolling. Did you even read the comic?
I was just kidding about the babies part, that is from the commentary with involved the Bungie team. That comic is not valid and has no value to be discussed if it comes to canon. I will consider it if someone from the 343i team says "It is now considered canon." even if it was, it doesn't really change the position of Jun from where he started. That comic left him in the same situation he was when they left him in Halo: Reach aside from Halsey's presence.

Exactly...he was left on Reach. A planet about to be glassed into molten earth and covered in the entire covenant fleet. The last exfiltration craft on the planet was the Pillar of Autumn and he wasnt on that. His only other means of survival was the bunker that Halsey was in, whcich he left and sacrificed himself to buy time for Halsey and distract them from the bunker itself. Its common sense . You can believe that he is still alive which is fine or you can face the facts, all of which are pointing to him dying. He no longer has a canonical use whatsoever. Look it up.

You are absolutely correct. It is entirely probable that he's dead. I just think mojeda101, like me, will not say "He is dead" unless we can point at a source that says "He is dead."

It's just a perspective thing. I have no authority to determine his fate, so I can only point at evidence from those that do. It's a scientific approach to the situation.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

The entire planet wasn't glassed. Please remember that the Covenant ended up setting up camps in search for the artifact. He could have lived in the zones not glassed, even could have gone as far as eat the Covenant patrols that he could have managed to have killed every now and then. I'm just saying that it isn't ruled out as impossible that he could have survived.

Ok I get what your saying. But he most likely died but of course there is that one possibility but I doubt that 343 will revisit Jun.
Yeah. We will just see if maybe a book of sorts could be made by the 343i team or just say an announcement of his status.

What I am talking about is the Halo books. They sell them at barns & noble (a book store). I am currently reading [u]Halo: Glasslands[\u]. It is really good.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

Better than Halo Uprising by a mile.

It's really sad how bad authors get paid for producing crap and in turn it being established into canon with little investment to the actual story or narrative.

While people who are actually passionate at creating something worthwhile get screwed over as their works will not be legitimately recognised in whatever medium they are presenting and they will not gain any finanial profit from such works.

Ah well. Best way to show your support in this scenario is to lack support to third-party halo works and furthermore increase the popularity of the non-official work [if done to a good standard]
