Subject: Did the UNSC have battle droids?

You would think 500 years in the future that they would utilize battle droids to minimize human casualties. Were they utilized in one way or another? Were any known in the Halo universe?

I don't want things like the F-99 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle, I'm looking for something that would fight the Covenant forces on the ground.

There are three people I serve. God, Chuck norris, and Evilcam.

I doubt it.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

I don't think so.

  • 02.04.2012 11:05 PM PDT

It'd be kinda cool if they used T-800's against the Covenant.

What?

No.

I'm personally wondering why they didn't militarize these floating things. (3:08)

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Lolno.

They'd be useless against the Covenant. The EMP from practically all Covenant weapons would wreck any electronics the droids would have, and no amount of EMP protection would protect it from a direct shot from any plasma weapon.

And not to talk about how slow they would be. They'd be cut down in no time by Elites and Brutes.

The main problem in the human-covenant war was that the unsc had
little to no chance in the space combat.
That's why they focused their resources on building carriers,
or other ships with more firepower.

"At the end of this day one shall stand, one shall fall"

So, Death or Bungie?

You have to remember they had about 450 years of PEACE. Meaning they hardly invested into military technology. That's why it's hardly advanced.

Relax. I'd rather not piss this thing off.

I think they have a Mac cannon on those stations, but other than that i dont see any others.

Only A.I. that worked Orbital MAC cannons and such.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

So let me guess this straight. You're asking why a science fiction game didn't incorporate elements from another science fiction universe?

It's actually good storytelling too. You generally don't attach yourself emotionally to a robot.

Not really an option. What is the biggest weapon they could it on there? A pistol, maybe an SMG. Not exactly that strong. They can't reload so they would have to carry ammunition and modify the weapons to function without reloads. Quite bit of work just to have a few flying SMGs that can be taken out with a single Plasma Pistol shot.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Could be packed with an ample amount of C-12

Peace? Countless wars were fought in those 450 years. Jovian Moons Campaign, The Rain Forest Wars, Proxy Wars, Mars Campaign, Interplanetary War, Inner Colony War, Operation: TREBUCHET, Mamore, etc...

The war with the Covenant alone gave us about 26 years to build up our technology. We are using droids now...

You can find a hundred holes, incongruousness, and anachronisms in the Haloverse. It's a game, and working out every detail to be perfect would take so long, no game would ever be produced.

i would take it with a pinch of salt. you'd think biological warfare would've stopped the covenant in the tracks right from the start.

Good idea. Could really screw up the Covenant's battle plans.
