Subject: Should k/d ratio be removed from objective?

I think kills and deaths should not be recorded in objective game types. Only wins and scores. That will FORCE players to work as a team for the win and make the game more fun. That way you don't have to worry about all the little things that add up to ruining objective.

Just note that I have a decent k/d ratio in Reach, but I don't care. MOST people secretly care(I learned this from a poll a while back), so most people let that fear keep them away from objective. They're afraid of the k/d boosters killing them in the hill. That's why the objective population is always low. Remove k/d recording from objective and reward the winners, and I guarantee the population will be larger.

Your thoughts?

If you're worrying about your k/d that much something is wrong. Also like most objective games you slay before you get the objective.

PSR = (((K+A)/D)*Win%)*120
The average player's PSR = 100

BigTeamBattle.net

Plenty of the people who stat in objective don't necessarily do it so it will show up on their service record. Sometimes it's just entertaining to pick off the ruffganja-types who mindlessly rush the objective over and over and over and over without even thinking to put a shot on you first.

  • 02.05.2012 9:07 AM PDT

No.

  • 02.05.2012 9:09 AM PDT

The primary objective is to stay alive. The secondary objective is to get a kill. The tertiary objective is to go for the hill/flag/bomb/skull or whatever the gametype is.

The reason why it's this way is because when you're alive you can get kills and when you can no longer get kills (i.e the whole of the other team is dead/outnumbered and therefore hiding in cover) it's easier for you to get the hill/flag/bomb/skull.

EDIT: So if it wasn't clear, k/d is important in objective.

My K/D in objective is good and I have like a 90% win ratio, problem?

Should k/d ratio be removed from objective?
Sounds good. They should do the same thing in Grifball and Living Dead too.

  • 02.05.2012 9:41 AM PDT

spiral out

Once they stop updating stats, maybe we will see some stat padding campers go for the objectives. Multi-team in the worst, it has people that are so focused on their k/d ratio that they sit back with 2 power weapons and have 0 objective score.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

if you have 90% or better win ratio. You're a booster. Plain and simple.

You disagree?

You join a full party, and play against randoms. That's boosting. If on the other hand you can hold that 90% win ratio while playing solo with other randoms... Then you can talk. Wait no.. -blam!- that, just stfu. Cause nobody cares about the numbers, except stupid -blam!-s that need them to stroke off too.

Pesonally, I think everyone should be forced to play as a lone wolf. It would definately change the perspective of alot of these lame ass -blam!-s that are ruining the industry. Give them a taste of what the "Majority" puts up with instead of catering the game to the minorities. Try-hards are the minority.

Try something for me.
Put that 90% win ratio on your resume, see if it helps you get a job.

And just so you know, I'm not jealous. I'm disgusted.

90%...jesus christ. Try challenging yourself once in awhile.

Most people who play in parties are very aware of what it's like to play alone. That's why they play in parties in the first place.

And winning a lot isn't boosting, it's just being that much better than the rest of the population.

Posts like the one I quoted just make you sound incredibly bitter over something or another. In this case that you're seemingly incapable of finding friends to play with.

LMAO. So playing with friends is 'Boosting'? And you think that people shouldn't be allowed to play with friends, and should be forced to play solo? In objective?

That's retarded plain and simple.

So people with friends to play with should be punished because you're too socially inept to get some friends? lol

I'm not socially inept, I just hate most he people I meet in matchmaking. Because you people care too much about worthless -blam!- numbers.

I also choose to play as a lone wolf, because.. playing with friends and going 90%... is nothing to be proud of.

at 90% you obviously are not challenging yourself.
And if your not being challenged, Why play?

If it takes you having to ditch that team and go lone wolf to break that 90% down to 60%, then you should do it. Otherwise....

I mean, you people throwing that 90% around is the like Michael Jordan bragging that he's never lost to a kindergardner.

Wrong parties vs Randoms is nothing to be proud of.(How most party teams roll)

Party Vs party on the other hand yeah you beat a team that had the same advantage as you.(Excluding horrible maps)

You're right, stats are nothing to be proud of, and it's not the point of the game.

Do you know what the point of the game is? To play with friends and have fun. XBL was designed as a social tool, so i can pair up with my FRIENDS and play games for a laugh.

So you saying that I should play solo, just for the challenge, is just plain retarded. I'm gonna play with my friends, because otherwise I may as well not play at all.

And, a person who joins full parties and plays randoms enough to gather a 90% win ratio. Yeah, you're just playing for fun right?

Tell me another good joke.

Cause right now, it looks to me, that you play just so you can come on a forum and throw that number around.

Well sometimes they may not be my RL friends, but they are players who at some point I shared a commonality or some laughs with.

But you make it seem like pairing up with people because they are skilled is a bad thing. Listen, if you played as much halo as me, there's a point where you get fed up with dealing with the no-mic bad players out there which ruin the game for everyone involved. They turn the idea of a 'Good Game' into a 'Omg how hard do I have to backpack these guys in order to win' Which is not a true indicator of skill, or fun in any sense of the word

I don't know if you are referring to me? Because I didn't come in here being all like "Look at my stats".

But so what, if a player has a good W/L ratio good for them. Do you really have to complain because a player is winning? Does it affect you in any way? Why do you care? If you are so convinced that stats mean nothing, then why even post?

Ok you haven't even played a single match of objective.

All you play is BTB, by yourself I imagine.

Your opinion is now invalid

Mr. E0S is hilarious.

So what you're saying is that people should want to put themselves at a disadvantage by relying on the horrible randoms in BTB?

No thanks. I would rather only go in to that playlist with 7 other non-retard teammates.

Yes since friendships made in the game can extend beyond the game. The only separation is physical distance.
