Or just make it like Halo 3 where you don't rank up if you lose. Problem solved.

The primary objective is to stay alive. The secondary objective is to get a kill. The tertiary objective is to go for the hill/flag/bomb/skull or whatever the gametype is.

The reason why it's this way is because when you're alive you can get kills and when you can no longer get kills (i.e the whole of the other team is dead/outnumbered and therefore hiding in cover) it's easier for you to get the hill/flag/bomb/skull.

EDIT: So if it wasn't clear, k/d is important in objective.

No, the primary objective in an objective game is always to get the objective. I hate when people try to get kills and -blam!- when the flag is right beside them and is about to get returned and the decide to just kill instead.

They're afraid of the k/d boosters killing them in the hill.

If you're worrying about your k/d that much something is wrong. Also like most objective games you slay before you get the objective.

It's not just about k/d - it's not exactly fun trying to play objective when your opponent clearly has no interest in actually playing the objective and is intent on dragging the match out for as long as possible while abusing the broken spawns. At that point, you're not really playing a game anymore. Kinda like playing chess with the kid that thinks 'earthquake' is a legitimate strategy. Also why we can't have nice things.

The average player's PSR = 100

You join a full party, and play against randoms. That's boosting.

That's what I've been saying. Full parties have a clear advantage. It's like putting an NCAA basketball team up against the random dudes that show up at the court at the community center. Big party restrictions similar to Squad Slayer would be an immense improvement for just about any playlist.

  • 02.06.2012 10:08 AM PDT

That is not why OBJs population is low.... Its low because majority of people prefer Slayer over OBJ.

Also, I disagree. A big part of OBJ is outslaying the other team.

That doesnt help anything. Majority of full parties are a bunch of bad players playing with friends.

Against groups of random, disorganized bad players, the one's in the group have the advantage.
Doesn't mean I can't roflstomp a full party as a rando - just means the odds are in their favor. People have issues with loadouts letting you spawn with an advantage, even if it's a rock-paper-scissors game to see who get's the actual advantage. Why should loudouts (which every player has access to) disturb the 'fairness balance' when teams (which not every player has access to) get a free pass?

Damn, this eos guy is retarded.
@ OP
I like how you say you don't care about stats and yet yours is boosted in rumblepit, pathetic.

Your kd in every other playlist is garbage.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Um... no? How else is Team Objective going to be fun?

And, a person who joins full parties and plays randoms enough to gather a 90% win ratio. Yeah, you're just playing for fun right?

Tell me another good joke.

Cause right now, it looks to me, that you play just so you can come on a forum and throw that number around.
It's like you're a black hole of stupid.

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Even if KDR wasn't tracked, people will still slay before getting the objective. Why? Because keeping the opposing team pinned down so that they cannot make a push for your objective is how you play the game.

Yes, people will still kill each other like they would normally do. However, broken game mechanics, such as bad spawns, combined with stat progression simply promotes such players to completely forget the primary objective, whether it is cooperating with the team by capturing the flag, to just having fun. In addition, these imperfections "force" the players who are not enjoying themselves to quit and search for another match.
lol no.

I don't hold the objective because I want to boost my already retarded k/d up even more. I hold because I find it hilarious and fun.

And nothing "forces" a player to quit. They quit because A) They know they can't win, B) They feel they can't win, C) BikeLoK

So why hold it?

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like winning. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the game burn.
