Subject: Call of Halo?

Hey everybody I have a community question to ask you guys and that is if Halo 4 were to become like call of duty in a way of being able to upgrade a gun and make custom classes would you still play? And also would you look at it as a step forward or backward? So tell me guys would you still play?

No, I would not play. It would be a step away from true competitive gaming. If they do this, they will lose the entire halo fanbase.

No Halo doesn't need to be anything like Cod. Cod is the most overrated game of all time.

PSR = (((K+A)/D)*Win%)*120
The average player's PSR = 100

It would be a huge step backward. CoD has that market on lock down. The more Halo tries to become CoD, the more market share it will lose.

Do you think that it would be a good thing or a bad thing if 343i were to make changes like these but still keep the same halo structure that its always had?

  • 02.05.2012 9:56 AM PDT

No they don't need to make it like cod at all.

  • 02.05.2012 9:57 AM PDT

The more they make it like previous halos, the more I will enjoy it.

"You're like a car crash in slow motion. It's like I'm watchin' ya fly through a windshield" -Scout

That would be a huge step back. I like Halo because everybody starts out on an even playing field (not counting AAs), and you have to fight to earn the power weapons and vehicles.

Very good answers guys I appreciate it! And what if it didn't have to be like call of duty when you unlock different and better weapons you have a assault class sniper class and tactical class?

It's Halo. The multiplayer is made off of the idea of everyone starting out the same.

I most likely wouldn't play multiplayer, but the campaign is what determines if I buy the game or not. Right now, it's looking promising.

I strongly agree with all your answers but I had come over to Bungie.net to ask you guys what you thought. Oh and if there is something special in Halo 4 such as armor or anything what think it should be?

Whatever it is, it shouldn't affect gameplay.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

To be fair, Halo is overrated as well.

Normally I wouldn't be so opposed to mixing games like this, but Halo and Call of Duty really wouldn't work well together.

  • 02.05.2012 10:19 AM PDT

No i think that would be a bad thing. CoD has its thing and while that system is odviously (and you can hate on this all you want but the numbers dont lie) more succesfull then halos, what halo does works for it. If you made it another CoD clone it it would fall appart.

Imagin trying to ADS but have to hit the same target a bunch of times to kill it. ADS is not built for that purpose. Its to aim, shoot, and move on.

Same goes for custom class and weapon unlocking. Being givin that advantage in the environment that halo provides would put lower level players at such a disadvantage that few would bother to try.

Example: Level 1 starts out with nothing but a DMR. Lvl ** has the rocket launcher unlocked. I think you know the outcome for the majority of the time.

So ya i think halo should stay as it is. Its probubly doomed to live under CoD's shadow for the rest of its days but any change in that direction would be negative.

I wouldnt mind being able to change minor details on my weapon, as long as they dont over do it. Also, isnt there already custom classes in Reach?
