Subject: Halo primordum questions... Please help!

I have just finished reading Halo:Primordium, and the book was a terrific read. It answered a lot of questions for me, but it also raised some for me. The Captive was a little confusing for me because in the book it said it was made of dead bodies like a gravemind. The Captive also said that the reason the flood was used to bring unity to a race of species.

My first question is: What are the precursors? Are they a special type of flood, or there just normal graveminds, or something else? My second question is what is the purpose of the flood and is there a cure for it?

Please leave answers below, it would really help.

Halo:Pericardium

I've never heard of this book before. Is it new?

Bad joke aside, IIRC, the Primordial is a gravemind. The Flood wish to infect every living thing so there can be peace. And no, there is no cure.

Ok, but does that mean every precursor is a gravemind. Or does is it mean that the Captive was never really a precursor.

We don't know if the Primordial is a precursor or not. We have several theories as to what he is, but other than that, we don't know.

Bobcast is paid in MILF blind dates.

There was a cure, but that was lost when the first prophet was killed by the Master Builder's forces on the San 'Shyuum quarantine planet.

According to the Primordial, there is no cure.

The thing is, the only freaky part is that in the book. The Precursors had the power to make and destroy species with the snap of a finger. The part i don't get is the flood. It seems the book says the flood was a curse left for life after the precursors were killed. Or was it to test species if there worthy for the mantle?

My personal opinion is that the Precursors were what we understand to be the "super Graveminds" Frankie hinted at in an interview.

But that's just me; the Forerunner saga is written vaguely, so to keep the mystery alive. It might be explained more in Halo 4.

Seems likely, since the graveminds in the halo games don't seem "Super". I think the flood is just revenge for the forerunners, since they did kill the precursors.
