I mean we have the pelicans, and long sword figthers which are very big, but what about smaller fighter like f/a-22 or f-16, something like that but more advanced. Did the Covy destory all human air craft?? For a min lets talk about Independence day. Aliens came and destroyed many cities. Even thoguh earth was raped like a thousand times, humans still had a formable fleet of fighters. Why is this not different from Halo. There seems to be a bunch of pelicans but not enough human fighters. Maybe some one could clear this up for me.

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

maybe the humans all use longswords as the standard air fighter, it works well in and out of atmosphere so why not be standard. they probably all got taken out when fighting in space and covenant vessels have superior weapons to that of ID4 aliens. They had huge ships that covered cities but no outer defenses other than light air craft. The covenant have huge ships that are pretty damn huge and have outer defenses sourounding them. Plus their fleet is formidable because they have much more variety in weapons.

if we did have an F-16 type fighter, it probably wouldnt stand a chance cause in ID4... well... until the guy took out the sheilds, we were screwed

That's a good question. I've been wondering what the Human equivalent to the Banshee would be for a long time. How come we haven't seen any boats either. And I'm still wondering what happened to the white four-wheeler that I saw in the previews for Halo 2...

Toast always lands butterside down.
Attach to back of cat always lands on feet......

Result:Antigravity!

I read something that said the Covenant has destroyed much of the military's air craft. And Pelicans proplably had the toughest armor and weopons which would be why it's the only one that survived. And wouldn't the Navy help them? It's their planet too you know.

Women have equal right as men (I'm not a woman, so you can't flame me, hahaha!)
Anyways, they also have some air forces, besides the Pelicans and the Longswords, they have Manterey fighters (Shown when Master Chief jumps off the Cairo), besides, the Army has more fighter plains thant the Navy, alot more.

I think in the books, they have Skyhawk Atmospheric Fighters, but of course, it isnt in the game.

Go Forth With Style

i know the covenant have 2 types of fighters, dropships, and different cruiser classes

the fighters being the banshee flyer & the (i forget the name, but the books describe it as teardrop shaped)

it would make sense that the humans would have a planetary flyer, like the banshee, b/c it might be difficult for the longswords to complete atmospheric re-entry,
the dropship the spartans used in one of the books had to be reinforced as i recall,

but then again, the cheif had little trouble escaping halo's atmosphere in the end of Halo:ce

so whatever

Exactly.

The Longswords are much, much more durable than an F16, for instance.

The shields the SPARTANs use was reverse engineered from covenant shields. Are you making any connections? Eh?

Love you Bungie!
Still playing Halo1 Custom Edition!

I remember ni the book they talked about a in atmosphere fighter supported by LS. Longswords aren't very easy to pilot I mean, they casn't take very angle shots but htey can drop bombs on big targets and hunt dropships as well as support a good cover for smaller fighters taking down the banshees and yes i think it's skyhawk

I might not be American, but I will say CASTLE is the new Area-51. You'd think so reading the books.

And how the hell do Samurais end up with the Militia? How the hell do actually army types get mixed up with the Militia? The Militia is volunteer people who are not already in any of the armies and want to fight but not join an army.

Also, I'm pretty sure Samurais are no longer existant, at least for the original rules that they abide to.

In the Halo 2 E3 trailer it looks like there was an airforce. Those jets (ships) fly over that big cannon and explodes into a big flash of blue plasma. That looks like the closest thing to an airforce in my mind. =]
