Truthfully, I was somewhat disappointed about the content of the trailer. The music was awesome and the fact that they left you another cliff hanger was good, but think about it, it didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. We knew Master Chief was coming back, we new the ark (or forerunner structure) was on earth, we knew the covenant was sworming the earth, and we knew Cortana was coming back because she plays too big of a role in the series. The only things that were new concepts were the assault rifle and MC's armor. In the Halo 2 Trailer they came up with over 20 new things that they were working on. Bungie said they have been working on Halo 3 since Halo 2 was finished. That's a long time for just a 2 min. "teaser." It did get me pumped a little for Halo 3 but the music really caused that. Watch the trailer without the music and tell me you were pumped, some how I don't think so.
The first 30 seconds was zooming out of the scenery (WoooHooo) then Cortana began to talk, than MC came out. This was the highlight of the trailer. He was nice and shiny and was holding the "Assault Rifle." He walks to the edge of the cliff and gazes at the "forerunner structure." This is when I get pumped, because the music kicks in. Then the structure opens, glows, and explodes or shoots something, we don't know. THE END.
Yes there is some in depth setting and everything but, Thats not really what the viewers are looking for. Or at least what I was looking for. After I saw it the first time I was like "I can't wait until this comes out. Crap I need a 360 first." After seeing it a 4th or 5th time I began to think "1 1/2 years they've been working and this is what they have to show for it? Thay worked on Halo 2 for less time and they were able to come up with like a 10 min. trailer that kept viewers up at night thinking of it." I know it's just a teaser and everything, but aren't they supposed to tease us with something? Because all I wanted to do was play Halo 2 again, not anticipate on Halo 3. They need to give us a new idea that not many have thought of so we can be teased with something. In my 3-D Modeling class at my High school I can come up with that trailer in about 2 months no lie. (no I am not a nerd it's just not that hard to do) It took them 18 months to make this one. This is ALL THEY DO AT WORK, create Halo 3. give us something to work with. Give us something to cry about wishing the game would come out tommorrow. For Halo 2 they showed us boarding, dual wielding, turret use, interaction with marines, and many new guns and vehicles.
I'm not asking for all that, I'm asking for something like:
The MC flooring a warthog packed with marines trying to rush to the structure before the covenant does. Driving off the gorge and down the cliff, the warthog begins to become unstable and skids on it's tusks. Master Chief bails and tumbles down 50 feet in a ball of dust. All but one marine is dead. Master Chief gets up and looks at the bruised and battered marine stand up and gaze at the structure in terror. The ground begins to shake and the structure begins to open. Both of them fall once again. Master Chief turns to see a white beam form from the structure and sees two banshees on their way towards them. He realizes they don't see half the population of earth below them. So he grabs on to a wing and so does the marine. They manage to boot the being out of the banshee and begin to fly towards the structure. When they get to it both their faces become drained of blood and they become terrified of what happens next...how the world ends.
That is what I'm looking for.
PS: This is not "leaked info." these are my own ideas of what a real teaser should be. And yes, I turned my response to another forum into it's own forum.
