I can't find any clear description of the different types of multiplayer games. The main halo page has tips but no descriptions. Like, what's the CTF game where you're on defense and offense and how does that work? The manual says nothing as far as descriptions.

That would be the Assault game type. Loads of fun.

its pretty much the opposite of ctf. One team starts with the other tams flag (ie if your blue, yourteam starts out with red flag) and the object is to take that flag and bring it to their base. Only one team has the flag at a time, so when your team is on offence, you are trying to rush the other teams base, when you are defence, you keep the other team from bringing the flg into your base, fun game

Dang that's awesome! Wish that game came up more often! So does anyone know where there's somewhere that explains the multiplayer types?

There's a complete HaloPC guide available right here, courtesy of Bungie themselves. =)

Thank you Shishka but that is only strategies for multiplayer games, not descriptions. Some of those I can tell what the game would be by what it says in the strategy but there are a lot which don't say enough or only have the gametype name listed and no strategy. Anyone else? Bungie? help?

Oddball: Keep hold of a skull for as long as possible.
King Of The Hill: Keep control of a point on the map for as long as possible.
Race: Pass through various checkpoints as quickly as possible.
Slayer: Kill. Each. Other.
CTF: Slap each other with a flag.

Yeah thanks....only there's a ton of other game types that are different variations and I'm trying to get the details of that.

"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." Albert Einstein
"You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty." Gandhi

Just go into the game, and look at all the differant options for game settings.

I'll explain one for ya! It's my favorite: Stalker

okay, all players start normally, but, whoever makes the first kill becomes invisible! Whoever kills that player becomes invisible, and so on. the invisible person loses their motion tracker which gives the other players an advantage.

I'll play some more gametypes and give you descriptions later on. Hope i helped!!!!!!
