A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.
As much as I agree with you Goat, it's time to move on and give up on Reach. We'll see if Halo 4 brings us back balanced gameplay where skill matters, instead of a shooter that lacks balance and where idiot with IQ of a potato can get a kill by spamming grenades and using "Avoid-Death" card. And majority of these idiots end up playing infection anyways so why add such things to the game?
Reach brought the series down to CoD's level, where even bad players have a chance by giving them 1) One weapon that even an idiot can use (In Halo games everyone starts with one weapon so this one really isn't an issue) 2)A feat that makes getting a kill or avoiding death easier(Ridicilously powerful grenades and Armor Lock/Evade, hell any armor ability).
I consider myself Halo vet since I've played the game actively since CE, but I've never been interested on competitive ranked/MLG or other of that stuff. But that doesn't mean us "casuals" don't want balanced gameplay.
I think case Reach is now closed and we'll just have to wait and see if 343i is interested on catering to people who buy the game so they can play infection until new Call Of Duty comes out, or people who will stick with the game, buy DLC and act like as a fan of the game.
