They call those "demos", and when one of those comes out, you can usually find it on the XboxLiveMarketplace.

*sigh*They didn't show the press another video, or a demo. See the trailer is what they call, rendered in real time. The "demo" or other video that you're talking was really just Bungie reps zooming around the environment in which the demo takes place, by means of some extra camera mode. The press saw what was around the Chief, where he came from, and a fly by of the artifact. This really just served to show that the trailer was real time, not pre-rendered, and that Halo 3 wasn't another Killzone 2.

Edit: Source, at the bottom of the page.

They can't release it. It's not a video or a regular interactive demo. They showed them Halo 3. Not any action sequences or gameplay, but an actual environment, geometry, and character models. It's not like you're gonna be able to control what happens in the trailer or something. I mean i really don't see what the big deal of seeing it is. We know it's rendered in real time, so end of story. It's all running on debug mode, that's why they had the ability to do flyby cameras and stuff. You're not ever going to see that. Just read up on it and be satiated.

We know... it's just a real tme "example," (if we're on the forum, we can read) but it would still be sweet. Super sweet, in fact. Who cares if it can't be controlled... it would give people a better sense of "perspective," and possibly let people judge the gait of this new version of the MC. The trailer wasn't interactice, either, and look at how many posts that generated.

Requiem, all we want is a deeper draught of the the dream. Or, uhm... some more pics, which what the press saw.

Duh.
