Subject: Phophets as an infantry unit in H3

We all know there are a race of phophets, though we have only seen the hierach prophets and the councel ones.
So what about fighting phophets?
they could act a bit like Elites and use a sword or something
( not on a hover chair like the hierachs )

Think about it.
( and i'm aware I probably spelt hierach wrong )

Prophets are purely political/religious leaders. I think they're took weak for battle battle.

spelling's alright, as long as you aren't being a complete dick, which you weren't.

I believe the council and hierarch prophets are the same ones. There are only 3 in the covenant. Or rather... there were three.

Their origin would be an interesting tale actually... What happened to the rest of their species? :\

No you could see that half of the councell are Prophets on the Heretic cinematic in Halo 2.
And they not be weak, we have only seen 3 in great detail and the heirachs of the Covernant would be old and weak. But what of the rest?

The Prophets created the Covenant so they would have an army to do the dirty work that would lead them to there Great Journey or through the Journey.

doesnt anyone remember that before the covenant was formed, the elites fought the prophets?

unless they fought witha game of chess, i assume there must be prophets that can fight.

No, the councilers are all dead. In that scene when spec-ops approaches with a wraith.

"By the rings arbiter. The councilers are they..."

"Murdered, by the brutes!"

I think Truth seemed too keen to see his fellow prophets dead.

Yeah, Truth went on a little power trip and had the Brutes kill off anyone that could stop him from killing every--sorry, "activating the Great Journey."

And as for the Elites, Hunters, and Grunts and why they weren't taken as well--the only reason they weren't wiped out as well was because...well, they were doing this when the Arbiter showed up.

Just coz Prophets look like they have sever muscular atrophy, and that their necks are going to break under their headgear, doesn't mean they can't prop up a gun and shoot the -blam!- out of some squid-face takers.

The prophets fought the elites in a battle, reasons for this are unknown but sometime during the battle the prophets discoverd the Foreruner structures - Halos.

The prophets were fighting a loseing battle all of them almost wiped out, and with this taken into account the prophets told the elites that when activated the rings would take them through the great journey - this of corse is a lie.

The prophets offerd the elites a place on the great journey if they would aid the prophets it activateing the rings. well doing this they encounted the Grunts, who fought against the elites and when they had almost lost were offerd a palce on the great journey, along with the brutes.. the hunters.. the jackels and the drones. - this formed what we know as the "Covenant"

With the Arbitor knowing of the rings true purpose and the humans reason for trying to stop the covenant and with his position being the new leader of the elites he can become a allie of the humans.

Just to clear the story of how it all came to be lol, but the councel of the covenant is made up of prophets and elites... the brutes slayed the elite councel members. not the prophets, thus leaving only prophets in control of the covenant. and the brutes to stupid to work it all out.

No, the Brutes know the truth very well. They're just as thick as....well, I don't think anything is that thick. The Brutes just like the power that the Prophets have given them.

The prophets originally fought the elites, they can be strong and they can fight effectively. If you watch the deleted scenes and extra footage on the limited edition halo 2 disc you can see it all. There's a picture of a prophet and an elite in hand to hand combat. So yes it is easily a possibility and with that many ships i doubt its just brutes on board, seeing as the elites, hunters and grunts have made peace with humanity..sort of.
