Subject: The Front Page

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Mmmmmmm... Bungie format.

Yes. It's always had advertisements.

Pics or it didn't happen.

No really I don't see any ads because I have ad blocker, though I have never really noticed them.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I liked the previous version much better. Much easier to see the main news, and the Comm Chatter had many more items in it. It was much more user-friendly.

I agree, but I'm assuming that the webteam just wanted something new for that part of the site when they implemented it. Hopefully we'll get a better version with the new update.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

This is basically what I would have said had I gotten here earlier.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

That design is deliberate. There isn't lots of news, because we're generally dark and not really talking about anything.

So I take it that the current front page is not permanent?

Your face is deliberate.

Yeah! Your face is deliberate. Speak for yourself. I am talking about lots of important crap on the front page.

Don't listen to him, everyone. These Mail Sacks and Ride Along events (like the one I have planned for tonight) are the most important thing to happen at Bungie since... since...

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I liked the version we had before this one. I don't have a problem with the current installment, but I liked much more the previous one.

I'd imagine once Bungie announces their new game, and information starts flowing again, the front page will change to something similar to the previous one.

I liked it back during Halo 3. Even right after that. I also liked how you could see all the game forums in the community bar.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

Why aren't these posts shown using the giant thing in the middle, rather than the Comm Chatter?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

LOL

I thought the letters to the webmaster and weekly updates were important. But I don't know if that is on the same level of importance. But Bungie being created is probably one of the most important things, importantly.

The main page's design is highly appropriate.
Barely anything worth mentioning internationally to do with Bungie has happened - so that's all there is to it, for now.

The home page's ad says to me "Here's something else we're turning off" - which is true, because... really... nothing has happened for a long time.

Don't change it.
