Subject: easier forge part 2: building

in conclusion to my last entry, this post will help you build a forge map!

i like to think of building it in layers, first you start with the scenery, weapons, spawn points, and lastly game variation locations (like flag locations or bomb placement).
first off, before you build the map, i usually get paper and a pencil and write down the scenery available in the map on the back of said page, then in the front do your best to imagine what you want the map to be, then draw it. this will help you keep track of building your map as well as give an idea of what you would like.

weapon placement is easy once you have the scenery set up, just pick the weapon you want to place, and put in the most logical place, for instance the shotgun, you would put it in enclosed spaces or alley ways of some sort, basically small areas.

now for game variations and spawn points. spawn points should either be put on one side of the map, think of it as if that team owns this or that certain area, so you place them there. re spawn points are usually placed next to the spawn points.
game variations, similar to the weapons, game variations must be placed strategically. like if you planning for a king of the hill map, it would mostly be in the middle, sometimes elevated, capture the flag is just placing the flag at the teams spawn points or near by so it's fair for the other team not to either spawn kill or be ambushed every time (it's more frustrating then you think). bombs should be placed in the middle with the bomb points in each other teams bases. now, ctf and bomb games are a different set up. each teams spawn points are located in an area called the base, it should have defenses such as turrets and such, DO NOT OVER KILL ON DEFENSES!!! it must be challenging and even on both bases, not impossible. slayer is mostly just an open space with weapons spread around. ALSO do not forget that sniper spots can be used as camping, so just in case, make the location slightly visible to the crowd, so they don't get upset and report players.

CLAP YOUR HANDS IF THIS WAS HELPFUL!!!! lol
