"At the end of this day one shall stand, one shall fall"

So, Death or Bungie?

its usually the really fun and awesome stuff thats always cut due to "time restraints". I really hope it doesn't have as much cut material Halo 1 and 2 had, long live Covenant ship

Games will always have cut material.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

It might have a lot of cut material solely because of the fact that Bungie is making a whole new "universe". I'm sure there's a lot of ideas for this new "universe", but just like Halo Combat Evolved, not all of the ideas will make it into the game.

Exactly... The best you can hope for is that it's cut early enough to not waste too much of the team's time.

A thousand to die, for few to be immortal!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Yep, that is why we sometimes get it later on as DLC.

Diamonds aren't polished. They're cut. It's a sad reality of videogame development.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”

That is a beautiful analogy.

I can imagine that coming from Notch, but that may just be because of the Diamonds in Minecraft. My GoogleFu is failing me...

You can never polish without cutting.

Definitely wasn't Notch. I think it was one of the Bungie Employees, or Urk quoting a Bungie Employee.

Of course, that means many a pet project and plenty of proposed sweet features won't make the grade. They don't call it triage for nothing. While that might seem like a bad thing for you when it comes to features, it's actually exactly the opposite. It's in perfect alignment with Jones' philosophy: "We don't polish diamonds, we cut them." Freed from creeping features, our artists, designers, and engineers are forced to focus on all the most important facets of the game, ensuring that what ships is of the quality that you've come to expect and that the team demands of themselves.

Found it. Jason Jones? Don't know of any other Jones at Bungie.
