Subject: Why can't I save my progress with my Xbox live profile?

Ok, here's my dilemma. I get a new 360. I get Reach and Halo 3. I temporarily have internet access and connect to Xbox Live, then complete a mission or two. Everything saves normally. I lose my internet access. Now when I boot up my game on my profile that reads as "offline", it tells me "Credit and progress disabled for Guest or temporary accounts". No matter what kind of progress I make on either game, custom armor, levels, etc, IT NEVER SAVES IT! It always says "Start Campaign", never "Resume Campaign", no matter how much progress I make or how many times I save and quit. My wife's offline profile works fine as far as saving goes, but hers is not Xbox Live. Is this some kind of security feature that only affects Bungie games? Because I only have this issue with Halo games post Xbox 360, including 3 AND Reach. Could someone please enlighten me?

I don't know why your data doesn't save. But if you're just playing campaign, I'd suggest playing offline anyway, your Achievements will still count as long as you don't transfer to another Xbox before signing into XBL.
And it should save your data from playing offline to playing online.

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

You set to save to your hdd or that cloud thing? If you're saving to the cloud you need internet to access it. *shrug*
