Whoo.

You can't put global rewards in an opt-in/out system.

It's not fair that someone would get a new avatar simply for opting into the system while someone else either didn't want to participate and got nothing even though they're a "Better" member or didn't even know about the system.

Plus why go through all the effort of making all of that if people are just going to opt-out of it? There's no point overhauling the whole system if only a select few people want to use the newer version.

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

I like the idea, some of the ways to obtain points could be exploited though.

These could be influenced with alts;

>Create a private group
>Attain 20 members in a private group
>Attain 50 members in a private group
>Attain 100 members in a private group

You can ALSO, earn points by other ways on a daily basis, such as:

>Have a user save your thread = 2 pts/save
>Another user quotes you on the mains = 1 point (max of 7 pts/day)

Also, It would be nice to be able to alter your Bnet-name when you've obtained a massive amount of credits.

This idea has a lot of potential.

>Participate in "reporting" an unwanted post/collapsing a post = 1 point (max of 7/day)(reports must be valid - users that "spam" reports for points will be deducted points and possibly banned - Bungie can tell)No, Bungie can't tell.

I remember a ninja commenting on a thread with 'This is the first time I see someone reporting themselves.'
Or it could be my vivid imagination that's playing mind tricks on me.

Bungie can tell who did it, but they can't tell if someone is doing it to spam or not.

Some people might just report posts they see as inappropriate, even with looking through ALL the posts someone reports you cannot tell intent.

You also DO NOT want members to get more stingy about when they report someone, the system is underutilized/misused enough as it is.

It's a o.k. idea, except for the part where people spam the forums to get more points.

errr..... Just because people are unaware of it isn't an excuse cut the whole program.
Which is why I gave several other reasons.Posted by: Be Brave
Xbox does it. Amazon does it. Bing does it along with Google and Nintendo.
I feel the need to bring up the "If all your friends were jumping off a bridge" argument.

Nevertheless.
Xbox/Amazon, they don't give you something you cannot obtain anyway.

Bing, I wouldn't call signing up to the site a opt-in program.

Google, this is actually closer to my idea of what the system should be like rather than the system in it's current state, people are getting rewarded for doing something special rather than doing something mundane.

Nintendo, it doesn't matter when you opt-in you still get the same rewards.

I think this is a great idea. The value of points for each action might have to be tweaked a bit, but I don't really see any other issues.

EDIT: Some of the rewards seem more like things that we should have anyway too.

My suggestion:
- Change "member" to "pimp."
- All Absent members will have their titles/prefix changed to "lost at sea."
- Ninjas get samurai swords

Holy crap . . .good idea. You've taken what could be a pretty complicated "economy" and made it straight forward and palaltable. Well done. I like it!
Hmm I didn't think about it that way...

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

They are all legitimate and valid arguments. Denouncing them like that is petty. You should have at least provided a counter-argument.

I still don't like the idea. I'm not sure why exactly, but I just don't. Don't get me wrong, I'd still visit bungie.net all the time, it's just I prefer the simplicity of the way things are now.

It was intended to be a joke directed at people who do that and then do not elaborate simply for the sake of either saying no or trying to go along with everyone else, but it provided me with some good laughs so I will leave it as it is.

EDIT: Wait, I was a prick and just came in and left that reply without reading any other part of the thread; is there a legitimate, mature debate going on here? I'd be glad to participate if so. The amount of those on here has slowly been declining.

first off are the points like money, do you spend your bungie points and get your prizes and once you have bot it you would lose those bungie points.or is it a achievement system were once you reach that point you keep the ability for ever and you just keep building bungie point up.

It could work, however the time and effort that it would take away from current projects. Its a nice idea though.
