I was a gifted student. Got tested in 3rd grade and again in 9th. It means nothing coz I ended up having a 2.3 GPA. I was one of the few failures, but they do exist. Most of the gifted kids are just normal kids in tryhard mode.

This, and vice-versa. I'm the opposite of this guy, I'm not in any gifted or advanced classes but my teachers expect more and better work from me because they know i'm a "smart, talented, student"(even though most of them haven't seen any of my best works). "Gifted" means nothing. I passed my school's state test with a higher score than most "gifted/advanced" students

When I was a teenager I thought I knew everything. I was smart but I was conceited. I'm a little older and I look back and realize that I really didn't know much at all. The amount of knowledge that I gained throughout the years was an insane amount.

But what's more important than being smart is having character. It's the good things that you do for yourself and for the people that care about you. When you make a mistake or are wrong about something you admit to it and work on improving yourself.

OP you must have a "I'm always right" attitude. You're 13 your job is to listen to your parents, it's not your room it's their house and you are living there for free so be courteous and clean your damn room. I usually don't write more than a paragraph on this forum so I apologize if this was a long read.

Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.

Such is life for an Asian with traditional parents.

You know what, OP?

I thought like this last year, when I was thirteen. [Never expressed anger, though. Just did what I was told]

I have come to realize it's a simple surge of hormones in your body, so it should subside in two years time.

Good luck.

I don't get the point of this thread. Are you saying you're smart?
Because your 'story' says otherwise.

Pretty much what I got as well.

Basically it's just a 13 year old crying about how his parents actually have rules.

You say your "gifted" and can comprehend at a higher level than most... yet you don't understand that your parents only want the best for you.

Yeah i used to think just like you but as I got older I learned to deal with it and i saw how much bull-blam!- my parents put up with me. I could never fill my parents shows

So I am 13 years old and in 8th grade. And I am gifted. For those who know what I am mean, I am seriously gifted to a level.

You know what kind of people I really don't like? Arrogant people.

I <3 Halo:Reach - amazingly fun and best campaign + amazing Soundtrack
I <3 Halo 3:ODST - best soundtrack + Firefight + Coastal Highway and Mombassa Streets, amazingly unique campaign.
I <3 Halo 3 - best multiplayer levels + Forge + best Custom Games + soundtrack
I <3 Halo 2 - amazing huge fun campaign + soundtrack + Fun multiplayer
I <3 Halo: CE - started it all

Are you seriously complaining because your parents are telling to you clean your room, and the fact you aren't responsible enough to give them the slip in time? if they had no a week prior, they could save up the money needed, and have given it to you.

You sound like an annoying brat.

Not to mention EVERYONE gets those slips throughout there live, and no, there not "on the top list of things to think about", but you still have to do it. Have fun getting a job, because they suck, but you have to do it.

残酷な天使のテーゼ

I'm not going to read through the whole thread, but I'm just going to point out the two kinds of "gifted" for the hell of it:

Gifted Meaning One: The retarded kind, the one used to make disabled people feel better at first, but now it's turned into a common insult. Truly, people who use it as an insult are terrible and end up looking extremely retarded by people with a brain in their skull, gifted brain or standard.

Gifted Meaning Two: People with an above average IQ. Just because you have an Above average IQ though, doesn't mean you are better than everyone. You have the capability of learning things at an advanced rate, but there will be someone better than you that is not "gifted". I myself fall into this category. In Florida, the DoE (Department of Education) standards on Gifted students is anyone with an IQ of 130+ that's been measured by State Standardized tests administered by Guidance Counselors and such.

"Why did I even do this?"
...56 translations later we get:
"What?"

If you're so gifted then why are there so many grammatical mistakes and spelling errors? I'm only 14 and I pay for part of my phone bill, I'm paying off a new TV ($375) because I knocked over and broke the old one by an accident, I'm saving up nearly $800 to buy a desktop computer. I don't whine about having to do that stuff. My parents spoil me, and the least I can do is become more mature with age, and start paying for my stuff. Stop whining.

Your not gifted until you can play a C#/Eb diminished sweep arpeggio with atonal tapping over with an added 5th and a b3rd, at 230 bpm.

so you're like a mutant from x-men?

JK I took the gifted test in grade 7, I scored a 96% I needed a 98% to be gifted, but oh well.

but yeah, you are arrogant and spoiled, I used to be forgetful like you, but not as cocky. but then I took a military discipline to the life
