Subject: This is what is wrong with Team Objective/BTB/MultiTeam

"I would rather get an Untouchable than have one win on my service record."

This is a quote that I just read in a thread here on the first page. Do not get me wrong, I love to get kills as much as the next guy. But if kills is what you like why do you not play Slayer gametypes? Nothing is more frustrating than playing a game of Crazy King in Multi-Team or Objective to have two or three people not get one second in the hill but have 46 kills and 2 deaths. Now if you are straight pwning kids in the hill while your other teammates score that is one thing, but that is never the case. It is usually a whole team (team of 3in MT) sitting back and just killing the other team with no intention of playing the game the way it was meant to be played. I understand there is absolutely no way of fixing this but my goodness there should be. To me this is no different than someone AFK boosting. If after 10 objective losses in a row with a +400 KD you should be banned for life. Oh yea, TU is also an issue with these playlists but that is for another time ;) Any thoughts?

While there is little bit of importance to killing in objective, some people just like to kill, you shouldn't base these players off a retard on Bnet.

Lol. No -blam!-, stats are not the point of the thread. People playing playlists for the wrong reasons is. If you would like to comment on that I would love to hear your thoughts.

They play for the wrong reason because of their stats. I don't let kids who stat whore play with me. They're retarded.

There is only one way to play and that is to have fun. Maybe people have fun stat whoring in objective.... you care too much.

  • 02.07.2012 10:53 PM PDT

@ Boom

I understand people like to kill. These people should go to a Slayer type playlist. Is it really that fun killing people over and over again that are not actually shooting at you or have any clue where you are for that matter day after day after day for a 1000 games?

  • 02.07.2012 10:54 PM PDT

@ DMR

Having fun while making the game less fun for others is not the right way to play the game regardless if you are having the time of your life. Is this not the reason for AFK banning? Making the game less fun for the people you are playing with? Posting one thread in the near year and a half I have owned the game is caring to much by your standards? Lololol

AFKing is when someone doesn't play...... that's completely different from someone going for kills. They're at least playing. Also what if the only way someone can have fun is if they win?? Then anyone who beats them should be banned for ruining their fun.

How is it making the game less enjoyable to others? Because they run into the middle of the hill not slaying any one and expect to live inside of it? The smart people always slay before getting the objective, they just don't run into the hill and sit there knowing that 4-5 people are watching the hill and they're going to die.

Games like this when the people who aren't going for the objective all go negative and the people going for the win are positive, we slayed a lot before entering the hill and got time in it smartly instead of just running into it, I think we lost this game at the very end by 1 second :\

@ DMR

Come one man, are you like 15? Playing a gametype the way it was supposed to be played and winning may ruin someone's fun but you are playing the game CORRECTLY. When you do things like AFK and Objective boost you are taking away from the fun of others by not playing the gametype properly. If you cannot see the difference I hope Natural Selection works really fast in your case.

@ tsujen

There is a big difference between going for the objective by slaying the other team before you make your run for it and not going for the objective AT ALL and only getting kills. I understand you are trying to play devil's advocate but what you are talking about is NOT what I am complaining about. Is reading comprehension not something taught in elementary/middle school these days?

Tru7h. C4RN4GE. Bungie.

You aren't seeing the reason why people stat whore so much in Reach.

What is the incentive to win?
A performance bonus of a few hundred credits. Not worth it.

People would rather go +30 and lose,
than go -2 and win.

Halo 3 demanded a win if you wanted experience, Reach doesn't. Bad kids complained about the BR and not getting credit just for playing, now they complain about the lack of teamwork amongst randoms and how they get spawned killed.

Explain how it's "ruining their fun" by slaying them while they go for the objective? They're going to get slayed in an objective game anyways right? They're still going for the objective and killing people while doing it.

Going positive 1 or 2 or 3 or 5 is not out of the realm of possibility. When you are consistently going +30 and +40 with a 30% win rate you are NOT playing the game correctly and are making it less enjoyable for those who are. If you disagree with that you should consider taking the short bus to school.

Have a different opinion? WAT? You're obviously retarded.......

  • 02.07.2012 11:16 PM PDT

@ tsujen

You are obviously missing the point completely. Sure they are going to die anyway, but the game is NOT BEING PLAYED RIGHT!!! In a King game both teams should be going for the hill, when one team is not going for the hill AT ALL they are making the game less enjoyable for those who want to play the gametype properly. Can you really not see that?

What if you go +30 or +40 every game with a 80% or better W/L ratio?
