Player models are guys who came here with Halo 3 and they probably post in the Halo 3 or Reach forums, they have been migrating slowly to the other forums since bungie went dark. I'd say, generally, they are younger users.

None of this pertains to me. Your logic is flawed!

Perhaps not, obviously they are generalisations. However your join date tells me that you joined b.net in the "Halo 3 Era", so I was right about that. And don't try to give me some crap about how you have an older account that's been here since like 04, because I'm not buying any of that.

Regardless, you need only look at this thread and see that much of what I posted about avatars and personalities/posts was accurate.

I don't judge anyones avatar. Unless you're using a Webmaster Symbol or Mustache Bomb, that's just terrible.

I agree completely.

Only when it's the default avatar because it's too hipster :P

I usually recognize people by their avatar, not judge them by it.

Hi.

I tend not to. I did notice that, a while back a couple of different times (but not now), people with a certain avatar or type of avatar were often trolls or otherwise made less than favorable posts. One time for about a day it was ODST people for some reason, then way later on down the line for a few days it was people with orange fish avatars.

Now I can't seem to find such a trend, and there most likely isn't one like that anyway.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Judgments are silly - with pixels it's even sillier.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

The only users I judge are the ones with the same avatar as me. I think to myself, "man that person has really good taste."

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I'm one of those storm chasers that will never have a TV show because I don't scream at clouds.

There is some fascinating speculation in here. I expect that with just about everybody some judgement is made that integrates all elements of a person's post, title, and avatar, whether it is conscious or not.

At least that's probably the case for users that one isn't familiar with immediately. Those first impressions are certainly overwritten by personal experience for users you've dealt with before.

Disclaimer: I'm a meteorologist, not a psychologist. The above has at least a 50% chance of being wrong. The other 50% is snow flurries.

We should know better, because we are better.

I don't really judge users by their avatar alone. I associate avatars with certain users, but I rarely judge them.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

Nope. Unless it's a really stupid emblem that they made in one of the Halo's. In which case I assume the worst.

  • 02.08.2012 1:04 PM PDT

I try not to. I don't see what there is to judge.

I judge every member is every way as much as possible.....

You freak.

All joking aside, I normally don't bother looking at the avatar.....but..I'll admit...when I see that default it prepares me for a crappy OP.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I couldn't even think how to judge someone on their avatar unil you presented your case in the OP.

  • 02.08.2012 1:24 PM PDT

I sometimes make opinions of people off their coup or lack of a coup but I never voice that opinion in my posts.

Subject: Do you judge users by their avatar?

Nope, the only thing I use them for is quick reference of who posted more than once in the forum, if you know what I mean by that.

  • 02.08.2012 1:51 PM PDT

I only judge people by their title bars.

Makes it a lot less complicated.
