Subject: Explain this to me.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Why is there a kill barrier in such an easily accessible area?

Just one more stupid design choice by Bungie.

inb4 so you can't hide.

Yep, we have to be fair to the AI.

Why is there just a random floating rock in a playable area?

Seriously Bungie, what were you thinking when you made this game?

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

I wondered about that barrier the first time i played on Overlook, but i mean you can't expect much from FF.

  • 02.08.2012 11:50 AM PDT

Because it's Reach. What do you expect.

  • 02.08.2012 11:50 AM PDT

Because the Ais cant get to you, it was put there to stop afking.

It would appear to be irrelevant. I mean what good does that area serve? Furthermore, it's Firefight.

A better example is beneath the pier on LNoS. The place would be a good place for ambushing the dropship Covies, allowing one to get a midair assassination and such but the stupid kill barrier makes it impossible to find proper cover when confronting these Covies. Come to think of it, there's hardly any cover over there.

That's stupid, though. Just make it an area the AI can recognize. People AFK anyway. It really doesn't matter. There's no reason for a barrier to be there. If they were just going to make a barrier, they should have just got rid of the area altogether or just the rock. Either way, a barrier in an area as easily accessible as that is stupid by any standards.

to be honest OP i dont even know how you can complain about it

It was a stupid design choice and I felt like bringing it up. It has no business being there. Don't like it, don't open/respond to the thread.

Honestly I was hoping people would get a laugh out of it, but I forgot that the mains are filled with retarded fanboys that will defend every crap Bungie takes.

"Hurr y u care it's Firefight"

It's in the game. It shouldn't be. If you're not going to do something right, don't do it at all. Take that rock for example: You can see it in plain sight driving by it in the campaign. It's at the normal playing level. Stuff like that ruins immersion.

Nope. Bungie is no longer in charge of Halo.

Because this is something I think should be changed at this point in Reach's life, right?

Again, I hope you're trolling.

It's not fair to the AI. They might have their feelings hurt when you jump out and assassinate them.

I personally like the spot on top of the antenna on Holdout that should have kill barrier, but doesn't. You can afk on it as long as the settings turned off the Banshee. That's the only thing that can attack you while you're up there.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Halo's new home which is run by The Reachtards.

I fixed that for ya.
