Guy above me, Why would the halo be opening OUT then? THink of it, EVERYTHING on halo is pointing inwards, and for some reason this is outside? No, it wouldnt work. AND halos were much smaller than the earth, no where near the size and circumference of the 3rd planet...
To the thread:
Yes, i think this makes sense. How the colors really matter? i dont think they do, but i think you iht something bigger with your idea of the ''main halos'
Your main halo idea goes along with an idea i have about the ways halo's explode. Do they do a chain reaction? Or do they all go off at once so that you couldnt esape through slipspace etc? If they DO blow by a chain reaction, does this mean that since we destroyed one halo that maybe none of them will blow up? ( it was Alpha Halo, was it not?)
Another idea: maybe if we were to activate the Ark, only one or two Halo's would blow up, which, if we are lucky, would kill the Covi homeworld ( if there is one ) and let us, Earth, LIVE!! Oh the posibilities....
Link to idea posted below, sorry dont know to link stuff... http://home.surewest.net/replay/Rings5.jpg
Also, i remember some guy layed out all seven Halos on a spreadsheet and found that, if arranged correctly, there is a hole in the area covered by the halos. A.K.A. there is an area big enough between the halos that an area could not be affected, which, i think may be earth. I dont remember where this story was, it might have been HBO, but i will look for it. Main point: there is possibly a hole in the area covered by the halos, and maybe we could survive a blow of the Halo's
Just thought right now: You know, look at what Spark said in Halo one: '' the last detonation of this installation was (insert very big number here) years ago'' (not exact, going for main idea here :-)) SO, look at what we presently know of the Solar System in real life. There simply is no way for life forms silimar to humans to survive on ANY planets without proper tecnology. So, to go along with my idea above, could this mean that Earth IS indeed in the hole uncovered by the halo's (if there is one..)??? Look at our planet, there is life, vegitation, LIFE, and we dont see that in any other place in the Halo world, EXCEPT AREAS MADE BY MAN, such as Cairo, Reach (which, i know was not MADE by man, but was built upon and cultivated by man) and Mars was also lived on, but with the tecno in the halo universe, it isnt unreasonable that Mars could simply be land inside a giant bubble of air or w/e.
Sorry for spelling mistakes, outta time, gotta run! Hope you like the idea.
if they blow up by chain reaction, we have a voluntary suicide ship at delta halo and a fleet of ships containing earths population at the halo that explodes last, then have the suicide ship tell us when the delta halo was set off and the fleet imidietly slipspaces to those coordinates, safe from the explosion that just passed.
