If they want a real fruitful game release, they should release H3 for PC as well as the 360. Im am a hardcore PC gamer (although i do have an Xbox) and take it from me, we need some good 1st person shooters for PC besides Doom 3 and the like. Hopefully they play it smart and release both.

Lets all pray for no delays

Halo CE > Halo 3 > Halo 2

Fix the Halo 3 BR spread, plz.

Hell no. Halo 3 is gonna be the killer app for XBox 360, so why encourage people not to buy a 360 and jsut upgrade their computer. Halo has always been a console controller based shooter. If you want it for the PC, there will be delays, too.

You SHOT ME! bastard

Considering the two used diffrent operating systems, it might be a bit before they release to it PC. I'll guess that if they release it on 360 in spring, you'll see it in the fall for PC.

Just a guess.....

Thats the only thing. Bungie is run by Microsoft. What does Microsoft make: computers. SO it is likely that h3 will be for comp too. After all Halo 1 and 2 are for computer.

Let me straighten(sp??) some thinbgs out. First of all, you can't just "upgrade a computer". It takes tech know how and money. And why it should it just be for the 360. If its the money they want then they should do both. Also, saying halo is a "controller based shooter" is just plain crazy. In case you haven't noticed, controllers are horrid to play an FPS with. They are not responsive enough, and you dont have a free motion to look around. You just fluck your thumb. There does not have to be delays, either. If it were to come out for PC it would come out for Windows Vista. Since that is still in development by MS (which OWNS Bungie) the guys at Bungie could work with the OS developers to make H3 run on a PC.

January 30, 2004 (Warthog's Day)
The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Bungie may be using the XNA devoping software which makes it easier to turn a 360 game into a PC game and vise versa. They may also decide to release it at the same time or earlier because of Live Anywhere, which will allow PC players to play agians 360 players.

From the weekly update, so if they do decide to got that way it may be awhile before we find out. They still have to get Halo 2 PC out before they start talking about 3.
Sin308 asks,

Are you considering using this in conjunction with Live Anywhere as Bill Gates was talking about at E3. If so can you give us details?

Halo 3 will utilize features and technologies that Bungie thinks are cool and appropriate to our game. No more, no less.

A release on both platforms on the same day is highly unlikely from a marketing perspective. Halo 1 is what sold the XBox, and they know that even though we've seen a two minute trailer, those of us who don't own a 360 will do whatever we can to buy one solely for Halo 3.

A PC release is likely, but it will be waaay down the line as has been the fashion of the last two. Halo 2 will only run on Windows Vista. This will help sell the OS, but is done mainly for the fact that GDI+ has been stripped from the Aero interface and that allows any Windows app to communicate directly with the DirectX API, allowing PC's to acheive the same performance as the XBox version without too much tweaking.

They do this staggered release for two reasons: ports take time, and PC games need to be tweaked for the platform (controls, etc.) from their console brethren and vice-versa. The second reason is business. It's not greed, it's just a smart way to have more households running the 360 and selling consoles to make up the initial loss they take on manufacturing costs of a console launch.
