@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I know something similar to this may have been brought up in the past, but as of now my memory of such a thread is lost.

Assuming this idea has not already yet been discussed by the Web Team, I'd like to propse the ever-useful tool of "Message [insert X amount of recipients] to message" would be of great benefit to area of Private Groups.

Bungie evidently supports Community interaction, provides for us the ability to use Private Groups and encourages that we use them to their fullest potential. Though when joining a group, in order to keep Members engaged it would be extremely convenient to have this ability in order to provide a sort of reminder of events or to keep people up to speed with anything interesting in case they don't always make note to visit specific groups in which they still wish to remain a part of.

And if you wish not to receive messages from Group Admins, maybe it would be possible to provide an option of opting out from receiving messages when you join a group

Thoughts?

Known by some, but not by all.

Yes, this would be a great feature.

So, Death or Bungie?

I would like this idea, but it would make advertising and trolling worse.

This would be easier than what I used to do. In the past, if I wanted to tell certain people about something, they either had to have a special member title and an admin can select which members are able to see a particular article, OR, creating another group specifically so certain people can interact separately (like an admin group). Even if you still had a need for these features, what you suggested would still come in handy.

Yeah, it would be good indeed. This was an idea in Spawns wish List thread.

Yeah, a lot more can be added to groups. I don't really see a problem with this feature... yet.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”

To add to this idea, which I happen to support, I propose that groups have a mailing list that users can sign up for. This would then allow the group Administrators to send out emails to all group members (through the email linked with each user's Bungie.net account). This would be an entirely opt-in feature, and only the leader or top administrators would be able to send out emails, but I do think this would be nice.

See, with email, there's a lot more formatting options, so if a group had some kind of publication, they could send it out via email. Of course, for the users who do not opt-in to the mailing list, a PDF could be linked to in the group forums.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

I'd like to see greater customization options available for private chapters. I'd like custom themes, text colors, profanity filter toggle, etc. Mass PMs would be pretty cool too.

Hard is good.

Just give us new message boxes, private messages and then bulletins or something

I wouldn't mind having this as long as it had that option to not receive messages from group administrators.

That's a poor argument, in my opinion. If you are bothered by the PM's you could just opt out, assuming that would be an option, or leave the group. No one would be forcing you to do anything.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

The ability to send a Private message to multiple users would have to be limited to Admins of groups and they should only be allowed to be sent to people who are in that group.

Otherwise we end of with people spamming messages and group invites to everyone on B.net far more easily.
