Subject: Will you not play Halo again if it lacked these things?

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

Halo needs a ranking system.

Halo CE doesn't have any of those things and I still play it.

No reason for that, the PC blows, it's not the CE version. When you LANNED you didn't need a ranking system as you were in the same room as the other guys. If you beat a guy that always beats you, you celebrated, as you know it won't happen that often. That's still a ranking system, but it's just understood between people.

Well Reach has proven how important a visible, 1-50 ranking system is.

As for stats, it doesn't matter.

In all honestly, this is one of those situations "less is more" type of things.

Less stats, weapon variety and customization, the better.

I never care about stats, and I've never bothered looking at my rank.

First in social ranked firefight campaign competitive and ODST goose splatters.
My other account is UrbanTwisticle
20,000+ total matchmade goose splatters

Check out my YouTube Channel

The gameplay is always what makes Halo fun but removing some of the functionality from the game will take some of that fun out of the game. Stats and API should stick around, I will miss them if they are gone.. But I will still be around =)

  • 02.09.2012 4:08 PM PDT

The game wouldnt have the lasting apeal but i would play

  • 02.09.2012 4:50 PM PDT

fear me, for i am pro sauce

stat trackers dont mean much to me, all i want to know is if i am positive

you have to have a ranking system though

  • 02.09.2012 4:56 PM PDT

I'd play it but itd get old fast and id eventually only play customs or search with full parties to have competitive games

  • 02.09.2012 4:59 PM PDT

๖ۣۜExploseth

Halo is a great game and yes I would still play if it had no stats or ranks. I wouldn't play matchmaking a whole lot, but yes I would still play halo.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Stat tracking? Wouldn't care.
No skill-based ranks? Annoyed, but I'd still play, assuming I enjoy the gameplay.

  • 02.09.2012 6:46 PM PDT

I wouldn't play Halo again even if it had those things but had a terrible sandbox and terrible maps like Reach.

How is that remotely true? Since when is less stats and customization a good thing?

  • 02.09.2012 6:49 PM PDT

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

I will still play.

I do hope we have a True Skill Ranking System, but If we don't. I wouldn't stop playing Halo becasue of this.

I have played over 3,000 games of REACH. So why should it matter.

I like to see it, so games are more even, too many times playing in a full party, mainly in BTB people quit on the other team.

True Skil lwould reduce this, as quititng would lower your ranks.

But if you remember Halo 2 and 3, many people qould quit to lower their ranks, this sucked as well.

Can't pleae everyone can you.

Less stats = less elitism.

Less customization = ...stupidity.

Small price to pay. I'd take a few annoying threads over monotonous gameplay.

The same could be said about a visible ranking system. Elitism isn't necessarily bad and knowing more about how you play is definitely a good thing.

And are we talking armor customization, or gameplay/map/gametype customization? I was arguing in favor of the latter. I couldn't care less about armor stuff, but customizing how everything plays is important.

EDIT: I read your customization comment wrong, so nvm.

This.

wow halo reach is STILL BAD!!!

stat tracking is important? LMFAO. ranking system is debatable. and when i mean ranking system i mean 1-50, not arena. i think one of the main reasons why people dont like reach is because all playlists are social. at least thats coming from the competitive perspective. im sure the noobs dont care about winning and having fair games and -blam!- like that.

  • 02.09.2012 7:04 PM PDT

Today is a good day to be a Spartan

Holy no stat tracking Batman.....

Yes I would play if Halo was missing these two things.

Anyone who claims the AR takes skill ought to shoot himself in the head. Preferably with the AR because they'll most likely miss with any other weapon.

I agree with this. I will miss stat tracking though .. or in future Halos it needs to be built into the game.

  • 02.09.2012 7:45 PM PDT

Yup, I will prob play every Halo, until they stop making them.

1) Stats tracking
2) Any form of a visible ranking system (no 1-50, no Arena, etc)

I want to know how important these things are to Halo fans.

No, I would still keep playing, but I would miss having a ranking system more than stat tracking (although stat tracking is great, I don't really use it too much).
