I'm experiencing three problems with my server.

The first problem is with connecting to the server. The problem is that sometimes I will be able to connect to the server, sometimes I won't. Simply 50% of the time it refuses my connection. And it can take many connection attempts for me or my friends or other global players to join the server. It simply won't let you in, and sometimes it will. It doesn't make sense. I have all my ports configured properly, and this shouldn't matter anyway because if they weren't configured, it wouldn't allow connection at all, and not half the time.

The second problem is with sv_tk_penalty. I have "sv_tk_penalty 5m 1d 0" and "sv_tk_ban 3" set in my server. If you get banned once, you will be banned for 5 minutes. The next violation is a 24 hour ban, and a third one is a permanent ban. The problem is the server won't unban the player after the set time. If a player has been banned in my server for five minutes, he/she will continue to be on the ban list even after hours have passed.. I do not understand why the server does not automatically unban the player after the set amount of time.

The last problem is with sv_name. I have "sv_name NightFalcon's_Dedicated_Server" set in my configurations. The problem is with the underscores. When I tried "sv_name NightFalcon's Dedicated Server" it would come up with an error. I thought the reason why is because the kit doesn't register spaces, and you have to replace them witth underscores. I was wrong, and on the server browser my server came up with underscores. How can I have spaces in my server?

I'm gonna duck the first problem and help you with the last two.

Players that get banned remain on the banlist with one strike against them It should let them in the server after the ban time is up. The next time they get banned it will enforce the second ban period, after which they will be allowed to login. After they get banned three times they are done, unless you use the unban command to clear the ban list of their name.

sv_name "Bungie.net Maw Server BG CTF"

The above is the first line in the init file for my server. It you take out the quotes you can use the underscore but it won't take spaces. you need the quotes to have the spaces. sv_name should not be in quotes.

Iggwilv:

So players will be allowed access to my server even if their on the ban list and five minutes have passed?

And thank you about sv_name. I see I just had the server title in quotes.

However, now I'm still trying to solve my primary problem. On why half the time it won't allow nobody to connect to the server.

Yes, after 5 min they will be allowed back in the server, but they remain on the list so the game knows they already have one strike against them.

As far as your first problem, I agree that if it wasn't configured properly no one would be able to connect. Do you have a wireless network between the server and the internet, they can be intermittent in their signal strength. Don't have to many other ideas. Might want to try blowing the dust out of your computer with a leaf-blower.

Oh and don't bump topics it's not a very busy forum someone will get to you eventually, just be patient.

Alright thanks Iggwilv. And no, I'm not behind a wireless router.

Ok, as of now it's not letting me join the server at all. Checked that my ports are forwarded properly too. Why isn't anybody replying? Are the Bungie Forums low in activity or what?

Final bump. I'll just leave this thread alone after this post if nobody replies, as it seems as there are not many users in the forums.
