Subject: New Armor?! (This week only)

Play Hard, Play Nice

Inheritor# ... ah hell, no one cares anymore lol

...I should also mention that we wanted to give you a little something extra to spend in the Armory this week. That's right; if there weren't credits burning a hole in your virtual pocket before, there certainly will be soon...

The Halo Bulletin: 2.8.12

EDIT: No new armor, I was confused lol Thanks for clearing things up.

New armor is next to impossible to do.

New armor is next to impossible to do.

Yeah, Evil Otto said it was impossible if I remember correctly.

I don't remember there being any new armour mentioned in the update.

  • 02.09.2012 2:33 PM PDT

And so God called Moses to come forth but he came fifth and was therefore disqualified.

No. They were talking about giving you something to spend, hence the TS jackpot.

It would be if they were to add armor that was not already in the game. Perhaps they are letting people buy something which was already in the game, but not able to be purchased before? My guess would be blue flames.

EDIT: Guy above me is right. They said something to spend, not to spend ON.

Source? I know somewhere it was said about Halo 3 but Halo Reach is a different beast. You couldn't even download the game to your hard drive without major issues. I think they may have found a way to work around the armor issue for Reach unless there is an official source saying otherwise.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. My guess is, it's that BOB or GRD helmet the kids are drooling over.

Which is rather useless to me considering I have 100% armoury completion.

This it has nothing to do with armor.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

They're talking about the credit jackpot. It says "spend in" not "spend on". Also it says "if there weren't credits burning a hole in your virtual pocket before, there certainly will be soon..." as in more credits, not armour.

Evil Otto is also dumb. It isn't impossible just highly unlikely due to the way the game was made it would require massive updates/DLC files that are almost as large as the game itself and any other DLC size so they can be rendered properly.

I believed the OP a little too much without reading the actual article. Read the next paragraph/segment. It plays on the previous statement under the headline "Team Slayer Super Jackpot."

All files are stored on each .map file. If you want to make a change, eg. new armor, you would update the .map which basically creates a whole new map. Which would than have to be downloaded, and that's only for 1 map, new armor EVERY map file would have to be remade and downloaded which would make an extremely large download (8+ GBs) I doubt a lot of people would want such a ridiculous download size. It's just way too impractical.

I saw that too. So I thought 343i wants us to finish our Armory or save up our credits for new armor.

  • 02.09.2012 2:54 PM PDT

how about you guys just read the first sentence of that paragraph.
"While we're on the subject of numbers."

what do numbers have in common with armor? nothing. they are referring to the number of credits they will give you.

I'm convinced. Sounds impractical when the actual programming is involved.

I see a gold visor in the armory, is that what we're all talking about? I don't recall ever seeing it and it's 250000cR. Is that new or not?

The gold visor has always been in the armory.

They're talking about giving you more cr...not armor.

Which is probably the jackpot in TS.

The jackpot is also there for an incentive to go into Team Slayer, which they are also doing a "test" to see if people prefer the TU settings in TS or Default. Trying to get the most accurate data.
