Subject: Power Weapons

A true Ninja

Why do the people in Reach spam power weapons. It SEEMS to me that most the people who I see use Bungie.net are the same people who spam power weapons. They always say that its fair to use or that its good for strategy. PERSONALLY I think they use power weapons because they are bad with most weapons that require skill to use. They rush straight for the power weapons and camp with them. I know that most the people who reply to this are most likely going to go agaisnt what I have to say because they use this strategy and think that it makes them good.

Tell ya what.

Go into a Team Slayer game with some friends (AR starts), and then have no one get any power weapons. See how it goes. If you get matched up with any sort of decent opponents, it probably won't go so well. The power weapons are there to be used, hence the term "power weapons".

Tell you what get your friends and be complete noobs and I will gladly go agaisnt you and your friends anyday. As we have done plenty of times in Matchmaking.

Salute me. Or... or, you know, stuff.

It's good strategy to rush a power weapon or vehicle, as it's better to have that securely on your team than in enemy hands. And frankly, I don't blame people, considering what a clusterblam it is to use the DMR.

That said, my most used weapon is the DMR, simply because I start with it and I've played enough Halo to have BR strategies ingrained in my brain. The only reason the shotgun is runner up is because I play a lot of Living Dead.

Anyway, I rarely concede that a player is better than me just because they kill me. It's not just about the weapon they use, it's about their proficiency with it and their overall performance across all games.

You make good points but what I mean is that most people use power weapons and vehicles in order to gain the lead. Yes it is fair but is normally considered noobie(by most gamers)because it generally takes no skill to use these weapons.

That's not entirely true, at least not in the case of Halo's lifespan. Reach is a more mainstreamed game, which is a funny thought when you consider Halo used to dominate Xbox Live. But much of the changes put into Reach, ones that simultaneously strengthen and weaken power weapons, were done to make the game more accessible to everybody. Like a Call of Duty game, really.

Power weapon and vehicles had a better equality to them in older Halos. Warthogs were a danger, but there were several power weapon counter measures. Now a banshee can decimate an enemy team, but it has to keep twirling around in the air like mad in order to avoid some lethal DMR fire. If that's balance, it's awful balance. It's like a solution a ten year old would come up with.

So if you're mad over power weapons playing such a prevalent role in Reach, it's only because it's not as fun to battle opponents with your starting rifle anymore, because it's a piece of garbage. And it was never fun to spray and pray with the AR, because if it's not a "he shot first" deal, it's an armor lock last resort panic. People want to have fun when they play, and the options for that just aren't as plentiful with Reach, so everybody betrays for the sniper.

How can you spam a power weapon when you such limited ammo to begin with? With that said, its not about skill - skill is not required to use them. What you do need is presence of mind (and experience with where they are) to get them first. They kill fast and they can kill multiple opponents at once. There is nothing "noobie" about using that which is available to your advantange. Not doing so, IMO is. Regards.

Ok let me explain because I knew i would get someone like you to reply. For one shotguns have a good amount of ammo and respawn which allows for spaming. With that being said that can go for every power weapon. You say this because you PROBABLY use this strategy to win. You say they kill fast which is most likely why people like me call them either noobie or say they take no skill to use because its easier to kill someone with. I wouldn't expect someone like you to understand what I am talking about.

Well no one ever said that I was mad about it. Most people who have no skill use them. That is PROBABLY why MLG has either no power weapons or fewer power weapons than the original map.

People with skill use them too, you know...You'd have to be stupid to not use them, so of course there are also lower skilled people that use them.

Correction. The DMR is a percision weapon.
DMR(Designated Marksman Rifle) with 3x zoom and is most effective for Medium and Long Range targets.

1. Umm....May I begin by saying that you are silly. Shotgun Spaming? I'd like to see that... You'd get destroyed from anyone with a thumb with an AR or a DMR....or a cone, from any distance. If we are talkig about singular use of the shotgun for the match, that I can speak to. I am a self-proclaimed shotgun wh0re. If people thinks that noobie, by all means let them think that.

2. I still do not see your point. Call it malaise, my ineptitude at logic, or just my general distain for circular conversations.

Regards.

Sniper really...And its funny how you bring up my shotgun but yet you probably don't know what playlist I play that gets my shotgun kills(Living Dead) but you seem way to ignorant to know before you speak. And my stats versus yours and yet you have rockets on your top weapons.
