By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.
Agreed.
ODST's story was beautifully done, the premise itself (guy lost in city looking for squadmates) sounds extremely boring but that's just a small part of the bigger picture, and even that part was pulled off with finesse.
The structure of the story was superb, very much inspired by Divine Comedy and threw around a lot of biblical/classical references which were quite subtle.
Then you have the Audio Logs, one of the best things in the Halo series (IMO) is the story told from Sadie's POV. It's emotional at points with a great cast of characters, some pretty good humour, stunning art and sound design and an overall great story. The juxtaposition of the main story with the Audio Logs was good, especially when we learned what it all built up to.
I really wish that ODST had been the 3 year project and Bungie's final game. Whilst it certainly accomplished its purpose, there is so much more potential for it.
