Put aside your books. I have yet to see anything from the books in the game. And if I recall correctly. the second part of "Pillar Of Autumn" in Halo CE is called "Constructs and Cyborgs First". So leaving it in the realm of the game. He is a Cyborg.
The books are Halo canon. They follow the Halo Bible and are approved through Bungie, anything that is in the games is valid in a discussion like this, just as anyhting in the game is valid as a discussion about the books. Also, "The Flood" was Halo 1 in a novel, so the books have been in the game and vice versa. Master Chief is a cyborg, the definition of a cyborg is in this thread already and the evidence to conclude that he is a cyborg is presented shortly after that. This isn't necessarily directed at you Rockabilly, but read the entire post before you add your comments, odds are it's already been said and either proven correct or incorrect.
I was just agreeing with the fact he is a cyborg. I do understand that the books are canon. But as I stated you do not see much of a tie in between the two. "The Flood" was written after the game. And if there was a tie in, wouldn't Sarge of said something at the begining of Halo 2 about his rescue. Maybe not to the Gunny, But at least to MC after they boarded the tram? I for one would of loved to here him say something along the lines of "And then that split lip grabbed my arse?" Then Chief and Sarge have a good laugh.
